I have an emotional bond with my Lazyboy. :lookaroun Even though it's worn out, we aren't getting rid of it - it's just going down to the rec room.

We call ours "the chair of death". Anyone who sits down and puts their feet up falls right to sleep. If I sit there to read I can not put my feet up or they find me out and the book/magazine on the floor. :o

Mine doesn't recline as well as it used to. It doesn't lock into position, y'know? So I can't really relax in it like I used to, I'm afraid I'll keep going backwards.

He is your husband and should side with you...make him understand that. :lookaroun

I agree with what you are doing and having to deal with it all isn't easy. We went thru all of this with my dad too. ((HUGS))

Thanks Mad - I know I'm right about this, and I also know it won't be easy.

betty what kind of dog is it.
She's a mutt - part Springer Spaniel (the bouncy part) and part lab.

Of course! :brick: Some people only see what they want - they have all the answers, don't need to be educated. And above all, keep those kids away from everyone. They're just weird. :fork: :fork:

Yes, it might be contagious you know.
Or, my personsl favorite, "Just send him/her to me for a week and I'll straighten him/he out!"

Buy her a book on Autism. Tell her to read it and then you can talk.

That's a GOOD idea - Abby has a book that is geared toward siblings of autistic kids, so things are explained very simply. It could really be used for anyone. Maybe I'll do some hunting for something similar, or just buy more copies of that book.

Nothing worth doing ever is easy.

She sounds like a beautiful dog! Does she look like a Springer or the Lab? My dad had one that looked like the Springer, but all the littermates looked like the Lab. She was a great companion for him and they loved to go hunting together. She loved all the grandchildren too and would always give me a poke in the butt when she came up behind me. :ROFLOL:

Keeping her may not work out, but you should at least give it a try. Stick to your guns, its really nobody's business but yours and the DH.

Hang on - I think I have a picture of her....

The pastor's mother always said that about his oldest.... (her own grandchild no less!)

Well, my SIL means well, she has never actually said things like that to me (probably knowing what I'd say). I really think it's just her way of trying to make sense of something she never had to deal with. She looks for similar behaviors that her own kids had, and therefore justifies in her mind what we 'should' be doing. The thing is, there's no maliciousness in her intent. More like....well-meaning ignorance of the situation.
The thing is Joel is borderline in terms of autistic behavior. His eye contact is good - many of his behaviors are typical.

That's the thing with autism - there's such a wide range of symptoms that may or may not be present in any one case.

Well, poo.
My agent just talked to Disney, and said they couldn't do just two of the four tickets in upgrades, they'd have to do all four since it's in a package. Which is an increase of $545. So...forget about that. :brick: At least she tried.

You can upgrade the 2 when you get thee though, I'm pretty sure. You might want to PM JPVondrake about it - he's always been good about answering my questions.
