Summary of new character locations following the opening of Pete's Silly Sideshow

Is there going to be a replacement for Goofy in Adventureland?

I think bring back Captain Hook and Smee for meet and greets would be good. They are classic characters and they are also well known now because of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. On that show their image (or at least that of Captain Hook's) has been softened a lot. (Smee was always lovable and soft). This deals with the issue of little kids being too scared of them in the park and allows WDW to bring "villians" (who are beloved by a segment of fans) to be back in the parks.

I am firmly behind putting Hook and Smee in Adventureland. They are recognizable, popular characters and are villains that are not as scary to younger children as you mention with Jack & the Neverland Pirates. They have the costumes around somewhere so it seems like a simple thing to implement to increase the total WDW M&G count.

They're experimenting with a new Chip and Dale meet and Greet at Rafiki's Planet watch where, get this, the characters don't stand in a set spot and have a queue in front of them. Instead, they wander around the path between the train station and the building and greet people there. I'm not sure where they got a crazy idea like that. Who knows, if it works it may become permunant and spread to other low traffic areas of the parks.

This is fun! I would try to make this trip now just for the interaction that doesn't involve waiting in line!

I'm annoyed that they can't have Minnie at both locations at MK.
Not to mention the lack of Beast for M&G is offensive. Belle's line today was practically nothing compared to when Beast was there.

As of last Friday night, they had Minnie at both locations during the Halloween party - in her poodle trainer location within Pete's Silly Sideshow and alongside Mickey in the purple Halloween gear in the Main Street theater.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Having Minnie in both places would eat even more of the budget and erode the character variety even more than it is.

And, she can't be in two places at once ;)
Yes, and Goofy certainly couldn't have been in four places at once at DAK until recently. ;)

And in her Princess dress in TST

I doubt we'll see that type thing in the future with Team Synergy watching over everything.
I'm okay with that kind of stuff to a degree. I think two of a fur character per park is fine, as long as they've got enough distance. Face, though, should only have one a day per park. Unfortunately, given how much of a cash cow that is for dining, I doubt that'll change... ever.
All that being said, I'm still a fan of just having one of each and including more rare characters, but that's just not seeming likely, unfortunately.

I agree, but old characters get no love these days.
