Suiting Up for Spring with Magic Friends

Oh wow...Wee Jack just had a nightmare. It was the freakiest thing. Normally at this time of night he'd be asleep for another three hours but I heard him down the hall crying a cry I'm not familiar with. So I run into his room and he'sl laying there with his eyes still shut just shaking and crying and waving his little fists. At first I tried just patting and shushing him to settle him down but I finally just picked him up and he was still freaking out with his eyes closed. I finally just held him straight out in front of me an said his name loudly over and over, trying to wake him up. he opened his eyes and stared at me like he had no idea who I was...he was stil asleep with his eyes open, and still crying! It took him a lot longer than it usually does to calm him...Grant came in with a bottle and soothed him back to sleep. That part only took a minute but Jack is the kind of baby who calms almost immediately when you pick him up.

I am so freaked out. Dunno how I'll get to sleep. :(

Aww, poor baby! :(

Yea. :( It's awful when you can't immediately fix whatever's bugging them. Probably my fault...I put him down earlier before he was quite sleepy and then went to do my nightime stuff, thinking he'd get himself to sleep (he usually can) and when I checked on him later he was still awake and not so happy. So maybe he was having a nightmare of being abandoned...

So how are you Jo? 4 days???

I'm good. Sad Spring Break is almost over. :( But yeah, I leave on Wed! I can't wait to get out of NJ for a few days. And then it's time for the shower! Are you going to it?

Girl, you know I love New Jersey (state motto: "Keeping the Ocean off of Pennsylvania). :animwink:

I'm excited for you! But of course, very jealous. Em's friend is going in September and her mom and I were talking about the trip and she asked me for advice...I am embarrassed to admit I already have a two page essay written to her and still have tons more to say...I think I have a Disney problem. :lookaroun

How long are you down there for? And what are your plans?

And yes, i am coming to the shower...I'm really nervous but can't wait to meet you guys!!!

Awwwww. I'm sorry Amy, poor little guy.

He'll be fine, unfortunately nightmares are going to happen.

How old is he? I feel awful I don't know this... :o

Don't feel bad. A) you're a guy B) I'm his mother and I have to count in my head to figure out how old he is

(please hold while I count)

He's about 4 and a half months, near as I can reckon.

I'm going down for 5 days/4nights. I'm going to be a chaperone for the HS music trip!! My brother is a senior in the band (and I know many of the kids from marching band). It should be a lot of fun. According to the itinerary, we're going to the 4 parks, BB, and DTD/DQ.

Are you bringing the baby?? :o

Isn't it weird to think... he's 4.5 months old... what could he even be dreaming of? Ya know?

He'll be fine don't worry Amy... just try and relax...

Okay... I feel like I've heard someone at my front porch a number of times... and it's kind of starting to freak me out... I keep hearing SOMETHING...

(we have homeless people who come up on our porch and take our bottles out of our recycling... how creepy is that?

We have no bottles in there right now though...)

Sweetie...i'm sure that meeting everyone will be fine for you. They are all such sweethearts.

(plus Nibbs won't be there so it will DEFINITELY be fine!)

:D

You aren't funny. You're a jerk.

If that had anything to do with my porch or homeless person comment... it's not a joke...

and i definitely heard it again...

...

we have like... we do have neighbors who share a wall of our house; but we've NEVER heard them before...

it's gotta be them though, i know it has to be

Quick hi...

PT conference went well....she gave me a copy of a 'story' Joel wrote. Completely made it up....just three sentences, but legibly written. I also asked where he's at socially, and she said if I look at the writing on the bulletin board outside her room, there are always a couple of students that talk about Joel being their 'friend', wanting to include him, like having him around....

Wow. :sohappy: :cry::cry: :o

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! They are so lucky to have you! Sounds like a busy trip for 5 days!

I might be bringing Jack...normally I wouldn't but if I can get everyone to agree that they will hold him, feed him, fuss over him AND change je diapers, I might do. :D Actually, i think it would be a nice treat for him and me...and Em and Grant can go do something together. If Jen and Abs were coming, I'd bring Em for sure (Em idolizes girls older than her) but since they're not...:(

Thanks, Nibbsie! I have to do it at some point before the Grand Gathering of Magic Friends at Walt Disney World that Dana doesn't realize I was serious about her organizing...

I know, what could be wrong in his wee life? Crazy.

Maybe you ought to put the bottles at the curb...technically, people aren't supposed to steal recycles but if they can get money for them. And this way they wouldn't be coming up on your porch. 'Course that would mean you'd have to walk to the curb every night...

Nibbs, will you :fork: him or shall I?

Well I mean... our front door to the curb is like... 15 feet, if that even.

But we can't have trash barrels or recycling on the curb besides the night before pickup day... or so we've been told. We've been told they fine people for that...

Either way, I'm pretty certain it's just the fact that since my roommates aren't here, the house is a lot quieter and I'm a lot more aware being alone... and the noises are just our neighbors.

The last thing I heard DEFINITELY wasn't the front porch... it was like, within the house...

So, it's probably our neighbors.

Yeah, it's going to be pretty hectic. Probably the only "normal" day will be the day we go to DHS, since we will be there all day (the other days we will be at more then one place per day).

I'll hold him!!!!! :sohappy:
