Okay, I have a Disney dining question.....

We are planning to go to DHS our first full day there, as of now. And I'm not sure what to do about lunch....
We've already been to 50s prime time and loved it, but kinda want to try different things. Backlot's kids' meals stink, so no go there....I'm kinda wavering between paying out of pocket for burgers at Sci Fi and just doing counter service at Catalina Eddie's (pizza). Opinions, warnings, etc.

Maybe try something simple like Pizza Planet.

Catalina Eddie's? Did that take the place of something? Don't remember that one.
We did Sci Fi when we were there the last time. It was a cool experience, but the food was just so-so.

I love the Sci-Fi. It's my favorite Disney Dining experience. It doesn't have a lot of variety but I am always happy with a Burger and Shake. [Plus on the Sci-Fi clips it shows 2 cartoons that I love "The Cat Who Hates People" and "The Optimistic Futurist"]

Also one of my favorite quick stop quiet restaurants is the ABC Commissary- Nothing spectacular but its never full and is a good place to relax.

I agree, Sci-Fi is pretty good, especially just to have burgers and watch some cool retro clips.

See, I've heard the food is lousy, and there's not a lot of seating....have you eaten there? I mean, counter service at DHS stinks, in general.

Steph, Catalina Eddie's is up near RRC....there's Rosie's, Toluca Turkey Legs, and Catalina Eddie's set up there in an outdoor food court thing.

The only advantage to Sci Fi is it is in a/c and is supposed to have good burgers/shakes. But once again, not a lot of choice for my uber picky son. :brick::brick: Gah! Sometime his eating challenges drive me bonkers...I hate having to plan this far out.

Of course I do love those Toluca Turkey Legs! But if nothing else, I would say Sci-Fi is your safest bet.

This may be just me, but I love Pizza Planet/Pinocchio's pizza (the veggie one). :slurp:

Sci-Fi is pretty good too, though. And the tables are pretty neat.

I couldn't remember that one either...now I do. I have eaten there before Fantasmic.

Jen, they have flatbreads, which are like pizzas at Mama Melrose.

I really want to try that one next time I go. :)

Oh and I've been to Pizza Planet before. It's one of my favorites, for no particular reason. The pizza's just so so, but I love the atmosphere. It's so fun...there's always seating up top when I got, but it does have minimal space, yes. Also, it's kind of loud in there at times b/c there is an arcade in there too.

Yeah, that's another issue - does sci-fi get loud? When we went to 50s we were fortunate to get a table w/ a TV, which helped the little man sit still better than he does normally. I was hoping the movies at Sci Fi would accomplish the same thing.

And I thought about Mama melrose too....

I've never been in Sci Fi, so I have no frame of reference for you...
