Suiting Up for Spring with Magic Friends

Luckily for me my grandma is an amazing seamstress so she made me a pouch sling (like hotsling or peanut shell), a ring sling, and a moby wrap. She made them quickly for me to try on this weekend and now she is going to make the real ones.
We weren't going to get one but now are thinking it might be a good idea. Thinking it would be nice for when I'm home & need to take the dog out...since we live on the 2nd floor of an elevator building, not sure it would be nice to make the dog wait while I get the baby all snapped into the seat/stroller. Plus if I ever take the baby into the city it might be nice not to have to schlep the stroller through all the people and on the subway.

My only question is....say I, or DH for that matter, had the baby in it by ourself at the mall or in the city even. What do you do when you have to use the restroom? :lookaroun Obviously you can't set baby on filthy bathroom floor, but do you leave it on? Strange question, I know, but it has me stumped. Of course DH's answer was to hang it (with baby inside) on the door hook. :rolleyes: :hammer:

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd my iphone won't turn on...

My buddy dropped it in a cup of water yesterday (he shakes uncontrollably at times)

and... i never got a chance to give it the old "toss in the oven" treatment... but it was working FINE until this morning, even on the ride in it was fine.

Now it simply will not turn on...

AND I HAVE AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW...

That stinks! I need to start my list of things to do. It's going to be really really long :zipit: I kept putting things off saying that I would do them as soon as I was done working.

Yummy!:kiss::kiss::lookaroun

Did you read the books? I'm debating if they are library reads or if I should buy them. DH says he wants to read them too, but it seems like the love story is such a big part of it....I don't know if he would like that.

I've read them several times....yes, the love story is the underlying theme throughout them. I have always said IMO that the movie and the book complement one another.
FWIW, my DH has read them, and really likes them as well. As long as you keep in mind the main target audience is teenage/young adults (primarily females, I might add), I do think there is something that can appeal to everybody. If nothing else, it reminds you of growing up and all the challenges that brings. Just throw in a few vampires while you're at it. :D

Omigosh..:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL: Men!

I don't have an answer for you, Steph, Abby absolutely hated anything that would've made her hold that still....so I never really even tried with Joel. Plus I don't consider myself that coordinated, so I would've been afraid of dropping it. :hammer:

Yeah.... :o

Pretty nervous...

I realllllllllly could use it.

They only selected three candidates to invterview... and the pay raise would likely be like... (after my 15% paycut this is, so according to what I make NOW) roughly... $14,000.

Ummmm... I could realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly use that...

I definetly think it would be handy. My MIL looked at all of the carriers and told me that I wouldn't be using them because it is easier to keep the baby in the carseat. She is very traditional :rolleyes:

Boys come up with some great answers don't they:lol: I would say that you would have to leave it on. Might be a little odd, but I'm sure we will be doing many things as Mommies that we would never have imagined doing before.

One of DHs cousins is letting us borrow her bassinet. When she brought it over Saturday night DH said "what is a bassinet anyway...do you use it to give the baby a bath?":lol:

Someone at work broke my iphone and I can't get a new one until July. It was no fun going back to my old phone.

Why does this not seem like a great idea to me? :lookaroun

The love story would defiently be my part and the vampires would be what keeps DH interested. I need to go to the grocery store today so maybe I'll check WalMart and buy the first one. I also want to re-read the Harry Potter books while I'm off.

Yeah you're probably right about that.

I'm currently reading Half-Blood Prince, getting ready for the film this summer :sohappy::sohappy:
FYI: for all HP fans, saw some news over on Mugglenet. Sounds like Dobby will definitely be in Deathly Hallows, and they've also cast someone as Bill Weasley. So I'm wondering if they will bring Fleur back after all...I had heard originally it wasn't going to happen.

And one more Twilight tidbit - the DVD sold 3 million copies the first DAY. :eek:

Anybody have any good ideas for meals that freeze well? I want to start freezing some things for easy meals after baby arrives. It would be even better if the meal could do double duty....eat some now and still have enough left to freeze.

So far I know I'll be doing baked ziti and tortilla soup.

Yeeeaaah, I am no help on anything cooking related. :rolleyes::o My first instinct would be soups, though. :shrug:

Chrissy, do you have a Crock Pot? That could be something to consider. Not for freezing, but you can make some very low-effort meals in those. Just toss the ingredients in there and let it cook all day.
