Hey all.

This is a question for my Sister in Law. They are planning on going to Florida approx this time next year, and want to stay in "suites" accommodation.

There is 2 adults and 2 kids 15 and 9 when they go. So far they have looked at Caribe Royale, Buena Vista Suites and Sheratons Vistana @ LBV

Can anyone offer any advice, stories (good or bad) or any other options.

Many thanks guys.

Hiya Marky....welcome back:wave:

Amerisuites is GREAT...I haved stayed at several of them and they are very nice for the price! They have a kitchennette with microwave, fridge, sink, coffee pot, silverwear, dishes...alot of stuff... They even have a high speed data port in most suites if she needs internet connection.

With kids I would recommend the Holiday Inn Family Suites.

They are very close to the parks, and the resort is very family oriented.

The resorts suites are themed a little differently. The suite that I recommend though is the kids suite. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The kids bedroom has bunk beds, TV, stereo, and nintendo 64 (games can be rented for free at the game room). The parents room has a king size bed and a TV (like a regular room). There is a sitting room in the front that has a couch (that turns in to a bed). There is also a little kitchenette that has a sink, small fridge, and microwave. Each morning the resort serves a hot buffet breakfast. There is a small food court with a couple of stands and a full service restaurant for the night. I also think that there is a lounge. There is a little store where you can go and buy food items (small market type). There is also a nice sized game room. The pool is very nice and is one of the zero depth entry type. In the front there are fountains and other fun toys for kids and it is all in the shallow water. Then as you go back farther the pool becomes more traditional and is for swimming. I also think that built a lap pool for people to use.

That is about all the information about the hotel. I think it is a good choice.

ALSO I THINK THAT THE CARIBE ROYALE IS THE NICEST SUITE RESORT IN THE AREA. IF THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY THEY SHOULD DEFINATELY STAY THERE.

I would also highly recommend the Holiday InnFamily Suites.
However....since we were there last year, their prices have almost doubled (at least coming from Canada using a package holiday).
I discoverd last month from browsing the latest brochures that the small print under this hotel stated prices based on quad occupancy (as opposed to double occupancy last year).
ie:If there are 2 parents and 2 kids under teenage years, your out of luck because you would have to pay for 4 full paying adults ....not 2 like last year.
I find that to be a major rip-off.
Too bad...because its a great place.
Does this change also apply to visitors from other parts of U.S. and U.K.?.....or is it only us poor Canadians?

That's also very typical in ski resorts. The price looks really good...$$$/person...then you read the fine print....based on 4 per unit! I don't think I'll find many adults willing to share with my family! ;)
