Stuff like this really shouldn't happen....

Not a single isolated incident tho. There have been many posts with pictures included over the last year to prove it.

It still doesn't mean that its 'acceptable' though. Its just something that happens. Should it? No. But **** happens.

This kind of stuff has always happened at Disney parks. It just wasn't as easy to take a picture of and complain about.

In a properly run operation it wouldn't happen period. Ignoring it will do nothing, but making it into a big stink might result in action being taken. A bit like any number of consumer complaints that go no where until a local news program runs a story on the shady business and then instantly action is taken by the shady business to address the problem. The only problem is that the OP needed to spread the word of dirty Disney in a better method than here on this forum where you have so many Disney fans that will just make excuses instead of try to shame Disney into taking better care of the parks.

We had the same type of experience while going through the loading area of HM at the MK. There were Kleenexes and food wrappers and general trash lining the walkway (where you get on the doombuggies). It was very noticeable and filthy.
We were at WDW for 10 days, and every time we road HM, it was this way.
I was upset about this "lack of show", and wrote to WDW guest services. They contacted me and told me the CM's of the attraction are responsible for keeping these areas of the ride clean. They apologized and said the proper managers would be notified.
I'm happy to say that I have not seen that level of trash on HM since. I know people can drop things occasionally, but this was an accumulation of trash that had been neglected by the CM's.
So, letting WDW know about these things does help, IMO.

I agree that Disney should be made aware of these things. When we stayed at Old Key West, the weather strip along the bottom of the door was all worn down so that light was getting in, air conditioning was getting out, and there was big potential for insects or lizards to get in. We made them aware and they fixed it immediately.

Happy ending to an unhappy story. Love it.

I have seen other pictures on here with overflowing trash cans. Sifting through the thousands of threads here to find them is not a task worthy of my time.
So over thousands of threads there are a couple of pictures of overflowing trash cans. (Some of which may be the same can photo'd by different people). And this shows an obvious decline in standards.
Am i correct in what you are saying ?

I agree. It's disgusting to see trash cans overflowing, and that could be the fault of some Disney CM's but mostly the slobs who think it's okay to lay their trash on the ground instead of walking the extra 20 feet to another can. The fact that you told a CM and they did nothing is frustrating. But there is always two sides to a story. Something like this shouldn't happen, but realistically it's not a perfect world. Give the CM's some love. I was a server for 2+ years and let me tell you.. i'm never doing that again.

To let it get like this is one thing.

To not do anything about it - when a) it’s likely to happen and b) being told about it - is poor.

Yes. My issue was not so much that it was overflowing. The issue was that nothing was done. People are gross. If a trash can is full, you don't just dump your food and trash in the que line. That is part of the issue. The floor was covered with trash. My issue was that I told the first CM I saw. He was polite, but dismissive of me. After the ride was over, I went over to see if anyone had taken care of it. No one had, after 20min. I told a second CM. He said he was not aware of an issue but that he was sure someone was looking into it. I'm only making a big deal about this because I felt it was a safety issue. My elderly parents were with us and my father almost slipped and fell on something slippery while walking thru the trash, ketchup? (not sure what it was). Either way it was gross.

Felt the need to take a picture while we were standing in line for Buzz Lightyear in standby. The garbage can was past full and there was trash all over the waiting line area. Told a CM about it and 20 minutes later no one had done anything to clean it. This was the first week of May and was not a busy time.
When did this bad show start being ok at Disney?

We saw this more and more. Only at MK though.
They really need to bump up their cleaning staff at that park.

Its really sad. Cleanliness was a staple of WDW in the past.

“we’re going to make it so clean that people are going to be embarrassed to throw anything on the ground.” Walt Disney
I don't have an opinion about the trash can in Buzz, could not care less. However, if Walt did indeed make that statement, and he might well have, it just shows how much different society is today then it was in the 50's. Today if people see trash on the ground, they just take it as an invitation to add theirs to it. This has become an awful country to live in due to social entitlement. I don't think we need any immigration laws, in a few more years, if not now, no one is going to want to come here anyway.
