Studio Backlot Tour refurbishment update

Thanks for the update.

But seriously, they need to either get a lot more substance to this attraction or scrap it. At least Uni had the sense to scrap the one in Orlando.

The refurbs to Catastrophe Canyon should be good...but I don't think it's enough to salvage this once-fantastic attraction. Thanks for the news.

All that means is the one part that made the attraction bearable will look better. The rest I assume will remain the same, if not slightly better looking. Please put the poor Backlotless Tour out of it's misery already...

I would like to give me well thought out opinion on the fact that the Back Lot Tour is not being replaced...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That is all.

If you guys think Orlando's is bad, try riding Paris's. Hoo boy. :lookaroun

Orlando's ain't what it used to be, but it's still way ahead of Paris's.

Just brainstorming here, but removing all the Backlot tour except for CC and adding 2 more stage shows to the tram route might be interesting. 2 more shows that a tram could pull into and be the audience of like CC to show how other special effects are master in movies would make me want to attend. I skip the backlot tour these days. Although, I know real estate is precious in that park.

Again, just throwing out ideas. :D

I don't think this means that BLT is staying. According to another thread with much discussion about a hybrid Carsland taking it's place, it seems that the BLT would stay with only a direct trip to CC and thats it. And that would be why they've decided to spend time & money on refurbishing only CC.

This might actually prove this fact, and that is why they are spending time & money on refurbing it.
Huh. That is more feasible sounding. I just thought something else along the way would be nice and not just one show for that tram ride.... but I'll take ANYTHING over the current BLT.

Hmmm... You may well be on to something here... That's pretty much what Paris's BLT is... An "out and back" to CC with literally a handful of props from TV/movies strewn along the way.

Could very well be what they're doing at WDW.

Right, the tram tour has had so many changes over the years that nothing would really be surprising anymore. It could certainly be reconfigured again to just feature CC.

Why not reinforce the guard rails on the tram path for Catastrophe Canyon, and make it a walk through attraction, kind of like Twister at Universal Studios.

I'm wondering that too. Maybe make the roadway brick, add some sort of awning, and make it all a walk-through experience. I might enjoy that a bit more because I'd be able to stop and take pretty good pictures of the props. Granted, some will dislike this because you actually have to WALK, but I'd prefer this over what exists.

Funnily enough, one of the proposals for Pixar Place phase 2 is to keep Cat Canyon.

Just thought I`d mention it.

BLT used to be one of my favorite things to do way back when it was the tram and walking tour all together. I bet alot of people on here never knew there were two parts to it. Goldie hawn and rick moranis were your tour guides. You finally ended up in the narnia stage where you watch a short called the lottery ticket and bette middler was the star, then they showed you how they did it all and the props were on that set. It was a great tour and was well worth it.

Does anyone remember that Universal florida had a tram tour? It was very short and most of it took place in the streets where you walked anyway. I think it lasted a year or two. You would think since that was what they were known for in hollywood they would have done a better job.
