those Trams are too old to be ferrying Passengers..so most likely their going to a new Home to whoever buys them out at the Auction
Dollywood is certainly in need of some uniform Trams. Bet they could get them cheap. The last time I was at Dollywood I had to ride in an old International school bus with the sides removed and benches put in place on a painted metal floor. Real classy!

Disney has a history of closing things without having an immediate replacement. How long did it take them to replace 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?
Sure, but, how many years did it take before they started to dismantle it? You had time to have a child and currently they would be in Middle School in that time length. It is funny that they tear it apart that fast, however, it is possible that they have to ask the BoD for money to build, but don't have to ask about demolition. That way they can go to the BoD and say, Geez, folks it's an empty space in the park we have to do something with it.

Sign right here and we can quickly come up with another Pooh playground with a wooden carving of a Tour Tram.

It was there for a long time. The ride may have closed the year I turned one but I definitely remember the lagoon from all my trips way back when. I think I asked my mom at one point what it was there for and when she said it was a Submarine ride I said I hope it would reopen so I could go on it. It never did sadly.

20K was closed in Sept. of 1994. It remained looking the same minus the subs until 2005 when they built Pooh's Play Area (or something like that). The timing was suspicious to me, because they were just working on the rebirth of the Subs at Disneyland and all of a sudden the lagoon was gone along with any chance that 20K would be revised in WDW. Coincidence? I think not! Then, of course, Pooh's Litter Box was remove in 2012 to build the "new" Fantasyland. So really... one attractions was replaced by Belle, The Little Mermaid, a new restaurant and the 7DMT, four instead of one. Seems like a fair trade-off when you look at it that way.

Well we did also lose the Snow White dark ride so I view the SDMT as replacing that and Mermaid as the 20k replacement. Pretty much just swapping rides for other ones.

OK, but we were talking about the area once occupied by 20K. The location of SW Dark Ride is still in it's original place. It just has a Meet and Greet in it now. Right now the M & G is way more popular then SW was in the last few years, so many consider it an upgrade. I'm on the fence on that one. On one hand you couldn't get me at gunpoint to go to a M & G, but, I only went to SW once and never had a desire to do it again. It was a wash for me.

Assuming you're not being sarcastic, but those are intentional (part of the story). I seem to remember hearing her tell the story about those and they are re-creations of the school bus she rode when she was going to school.

Taking away all other factors I guess I agree the space is being better used now. 2 rides where only one used to be plus a new restaurant (sounds just like another new area that was built). Didn't 20k have a pretty low capacity as well?

Not sure what the total capacity was but I remember a long line. It was slow loading too. Still cool, but not on par with Splash Mountain which was added about the same time 20K closed.

Please, don't let them close this thread by going off topic! If you can't do it for the sake of Hollywood Studios' future, do it at least for me! It's the first thread I ever posted that is actually popular! ;-)

Anyway, if more attractions start closing in the next few weeks, then we'll know they are really getting serious. The play area should close soon for them to have a large area to close off with walls.

their getting ready for Demolition to build whatever is coming to the Disney Hollywood Studios in Future and yea the Prop warehouse is getting cleaned and gutted out as we speak and as for Walt's Plane My Guess is that there gonna move it to Downtown Disney for now so when the Hanger Restaurant opens up Walt's Plane will be on Display
at least they wont destroy it?.
what about the other stuff? like Herbie and the other famous cars?

Also people seem to forget Belle as another attraction thats sits in 20k area
Actually I think Belle and the whole B&tB area is where the old Ariel M&G was plus some previously backstage space. Only SDMT and LM were built over the lagoon.

What a bunch of garbage. That woman is older then the hills and if that were all they had it might be a good story, but they do have other regular type trams, they just don't use them on slow days. Nice story though, but, not buying it for a second. Even in Tennessee it gets cold in the winter. Open air buses would not be a wonderful way to start ones day. Otherwise it's just a standard International Bus chassis. We all rode on those buses back then, but they did have sides and windows. The one I rode on was old enough to be the actual bus she rode on if that is all true.

The Ariel M&G was located at the old queue for 20K. You can't classify only the lagoon as the 20K attraction. The entire area across the pathway from Pooh was the 20K attraction. It was a big area.
