They're demolishing Bay Lake Tower?!

I so wish... :banghead:

Can we have the Contemporary North Garden Wings back, please?

Sure, I'd love a Brownie.

Dollywood is certainly in need of some uniform Trams. Bet they could get them cheap. The last time I was at Dollywood I had to ride in an old International school bus with the sides removed and benches put in place on a painted metal floor. Real classy!

So long as it is done properly and not "on the cheap" with just a broken down old bus, that does fit the Dollywood and Pigeon Forge "theme", as @GrumpyFan noted. The key is to properly capture the essence of the experience in an authentic manner whilst avoiding too realistic themeing which is lost on the guest and just comes across as cheap or tacky (Dinorama comes readily to mind).

Also people seem to forget Belle as another attraction thats sits in 20k area

No because it is an elaborate M+G that is all...

On topic: In reality the facilities that you used to go through on BLT need to be relocated out of the park before serious stuff happens and when they happen.

yea like they'll have to Relocate those offices where BLT is and somehow find a way to get send a final Farewell to those copy movie vehicles to a Boneyard somewhere were it could Displayed like Universal Studios Florida did in the 90s

Believe me it, by all appearances was just a broken down old bus. History or not, I was not amused.

Yes, but always remember, and don't ever forget... One persons "elaborate M&G" is another persons Attraction. It is desire to experience defined.

They took the trams through the actual park? Seems strange.
The new york area specifically was heavily used for filming back in the 90's. It was their main on-location backlot shooting location. Disney did the same thing with the Streets of America. The tram used to go down SoA and back as that was their on-location filming backlot. During time when actual production was happening in those areas, the tram wouldn't do that portion of the tour.

Yes but were people walking around SoA when the BLT still drove through?

No, because the SoA was not a guest area back then. As a matter of fact, it wasn't a guest area until 2005 when LMA was built. The BLT got cut big time for LMA.
And that's why I thought it was strange that Universal was driving their trams through New York where you could see plenty of guests walking around.

No, because the SoA was not a guest area back then. It also wasn't called SoA, it was called Residential Street.

I remember walking and taking pictures of SoA years back, in the beginning. The only time it was closed off was when they were filming there.

SoA and Residential Street are two different animals. Residential Street was always exclusively for the Tram tour. Streets of American is the area where the bigger city facade area is with the giant cardboard cutouts of the Empire State Building, etc. at the end. Residential Street was just the false front houses used in camera shots and no one could walk on that street. Disney was smart enough to know that people would be trampling the foliage and wandering around to the back side only to see a few 2X4 braces holding the shell up. That would have been a magic killer.

That was back in the day when they only employed a platoon of Lawyers. Now they have a whole army of them all trying to prove their worth. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Times have changed.
