Strange question about SSE

HAHAHAH! I never used to think about that but now, it's all I'll think about.

True that! How many of us who read this post will forever be looking for the "newspaper boy" every single time we get on SSE??? I'm raising my hand!

Sometimes I feel bad for the animatronic people in Spaceship Earth, trapped there, repeating the same thing day in and day out.

Oh my goodness, I feel a new Disney movie plotline. The animatronic people Dave SSE from an alien force... Whew!

When did they turn him around? I'm only wondering because I could have sworn he was facing the riders during our first trips to WDW and we started going in 2008.

In 08 he was defiantly turned around, early 2007 he wasn't. I rode Spaceship Earth a couple of weeks before they changed it.

I've always wondered: if you listen to the Chinese narration on the ride, does the narrator still say this line? They dont use this same alphabet and it probably isn't easy for them to learn.

Pretty sure Chinese doesn't have an alphabet like we do. Many of them have learned our Alphabet though. So perhaps it was easy for them also!

It's actually more of "now that you think his face is disfigured". Another one of the totally unsubstantiated rumors this place is so famous for making into unsubstantiated fact.

I've seen that video of the lights on SSE before. I was so looking forward to watching it and seeing all the stuff thats apparently at 180 top (is that the right name?!), and you can't see jack. No weird box where an animatronic lady once stood, no painted out space ship and astronauts. No hidden classroom scene on the decent (which is probably behind a black curtain saying that). That's not saying they aren't there, but it would have been nice to be able to see them. All I got from that video is that they like to hide junk where no one can see with the lights off. Lights on, boom. Looks like crap!

I do understand he was quite near the track so that makes sense to move him away.
