That look nice. Does anyone know if they will be adding anything to cover the metal poles? Wasn't this originally supposed to look like tickets booths in the concept art?

Sounds like the name was borrowed from the Disneyland attraction, Storybook Land Boat Canals.

I am assuming they are going to add something to the lower sections of the polls, and they still need to install the lower seciton of polls on the other side.

It's far from finished if you look carefully you'll see the metal eyeholes where ropes attached canvases advertising the attractions will be attached and eventually covering all of the open spaces between the wooden poles.

Oh HO. Thanks. But...it still doesn't make a lot of sense. The scenes in the Canals attractions are actually derived from storybooks. But Dumbo doesn't have that connection...I think.

I always assumed it was based on the kinds of circus that you would find in the storybooks.
As a direct contrast to the kinds of circus you'd find in real life, either historical (with all the exploitation of animals, exploitation of people with deformities, carnies, etc) or current (the 1 day here and gone thing that comes to your local arena like any other travelling act).
