ive been thinking is the sbc a joke. does any body else think that these are just tentative plans. maybe just to cover or hide an even bigger plan? i think it is a good overlay for gbs and the area where dumbo is but sucks for where the tents currently are. if u look at an aerial shot of MK you can see next to the tents and behind the train station there is clearing being done. Maybe just a cast member parking lot but i think if they scrap the idea for sbc by the tents they could easily put a new attraction in the spot where the tents are and put the show building where they are clearing which would have a tunnel to get to the show building from the attraction's entrance (current spot of the tents). the tunnel would be like space mountain to avoid the train.

I would personally love to see a storybook canal boat ride or something back there. I think it would fit perfectly. Make it an updated version like the one in Paris and it'll be really nice!!

well if they are doing this i hope it is temporary there is allot of land for expansion back there ( well at least for a good e ticket and a good theme)
no body wants just cheep carnival games to go there which i think is the plan

It's pretty much official (well, as official as anything gets at WDW). Gift shop, meet-n-greet, new water play area, re-themed coaster, double dumbo, greatly enhanced train station, and a few other things.

The clearing you see in imagery is for a new retention pond, unfortunately.

In my opinion, I would rather they demo those stupid tents and have kept Mickey and Minnies houses. Instead, they're keeping the part of Toontown Fair we all hated the most.(be it new tents or not, those tents are ugly!)

maybe they will move dinoland and circusland to the boneyard and tell the nice folks in charge of the illuminations pyro they can practice new inferno barge special effects.

I'm just thinking about it as a "mini-land" within Fantasyland. I like Fantasyland, so I don't mind that much.

SBC will be the a land like Dinoland a halved assed excuses for a land (even if it is just mini) There is so much room for improvement and opportunity. Fingers crossed that is will be temporary( well at least where the tents are)

what is a retention pond for ???????

To retain water. When you build something and cover the earth with an impermeable surface, you have to provide an area to collect the water that would have seeped into the ground naturally. They are covering more ground with new buildings, so they had to put in more storm sewer pipes to collect the water and drain it to the new pond outside the berm.

If they're actually replacing the two big tents with new tents (as people have implied), they won't be any more temporary than they were the first time. One will continue to be a giant gift shop, and the other a meet-n-greet.

I am with you on this. Everyone is quick to judge something that doesnt even exist yet.

so far with the current plan does this even compare to anything else disney has done?!?!?!?!? we r not getting any thing new(only a re-theming of a ride and moving a ride). Except maybe carnival games and one reason why some people like disney over other theme parks is because of the lack of games. it decreases the quality of the environment and looks cheesy(same with water playgrounds). also after spending alot of money to even get in the park nobody wants to be beaten over the head with people trying to get you to play a game that you will never win for a cheep stuffed animal. on top of many other things that is why i hate, no , despise Universal.

we also have to look past those stupid tents!!!!! i am 100% shore disney can do something much better it they just forget those tents (they also look corny)
SBC was the cheep way out if they are going to spend all this money to get rid of something they should at least do something that will stand the test of time
Im not hating on the idea of SBC ( i think it is good theming on goofy and dumbo aria) i just think in the place where the tents are (and beyond) they can do something better

But they are not building any new buildings (maybe just replacing some) the only building near that area is dumbo and also there is only one other one in near MK (the one right next to it) so why would this be the only area that needs it????
