Stormstruck attraction at innoventions

Twister is a VERY lame attempt at recreating a scene in the movie with a very underwhelming "real tornado." It's more or less a very mild Catastrophe Canyon with waaay too much preshow.

You might have seen the tornado on a off day...I've seen it HUGE and then I've seen it be really wimpy. As for everything else, yep.

What, you DON'T like to listen to Bill Paxton.

This post has the power to strip the asphalt off a six-lane highway from up to a mile away...I'm very excited. Hi, I'm Bill Paxton.

I'm so glad that this is finally brought to light! THIS was the the secret preview I got to see in December! My son and I were walking around EPCOT and outside of the Innoventions, they asked us if we had some time to spend on this. They took us into the employee part of Innoventions, and we went through some cubicles and up the elevator to a conference room. There were 10 of us participating.

We saw a simulation of the storm and the damage from it. Then we had a quiz type thing about what roof type is better, what type of nails to use, etc.

They asked us a bunch of questions about what we liked, didn't like, would change, etc. My son was especially thrilled because he was the only kid and the Imagineers were really interested in what he had to say!

They really didn't tell us how they were going to make this exhibit "magic", but we had all suggested interactive wind, rain, etc where the audience was really part of the storm. The Imagineer smiled when we said this.

It was interesting to see this part of the Epcot. I mean, how many people get to go backstage like that?

That is super cool!!!!!

All I have ever gotten to take part in was the restaurant review questionaire in MK...oh well, it was still kinda neat.

 I prefer Twister to Catastrophe Canyon  (I also prefered Earthquake over Catastrophe Canyon).

Yes, I agree that the preshow...and the pre-preshow are too long...but the effects (aside from the flying cow) are great!

It was a really unique and fun experience. It was probably every bit as wonderful as winning a night in the castle to us Disney nerds! :D

It was funny; after we did this, we met back with our group and we couldn't say a word about what it was about! The Imagineer told us to keep mum, and we kept our word.

Sooo... if any other super secret Disney people are reading this, I can be trusted... tell me more!

Yes, both are far superior. I'm anxious to see the changes they made Earthquake now that it's called Disaster.
