R.I.P Galaxy Palace Theatre.

Uh, the theater isn't being affected by this (at least not that I know of). The construction is over by the old Skyway building, next to the restrooms, not anywhere close to the Galaxy Palace Theater.

In one sense, this finally puts something over in that dead expanse of concrete between SM and CoP in Tomorrowland. Guess I can "celebrate" that fact a little bit.

You can actually see the spires of the entrance to the Galaxy Palace Theater way in the background of the picture...

No it's not the Galaxy theater but as soon as this new stage is finished the Galaxy theater is suppose to be demolished.

This is one of the uglier Disney construction sites I've seen. It is plainly visible (as you can see from the pics) from the TTA. You can even see the temporary gravel path they made to roll in construction materials. Even my wife, who is by no means the Disney nut that I am, said "Now that is bad show" as we rode by on TTA.

I don't know what else they could have done (tent?; build it somewhere else?; don't build it at all?), but it certainly doesn't look like they put in the normal efforts to keep the construction out of sight.

I don't know...construction sites have always been visible from up high. An example would be construction at Epcot that has always been visible from the monorail. I consider bad show when you can see something from the ground. For example, painting the castle during the day (as was done recently) is bad show. Merely having a construction site visible isn't, in my opinion. You can't hide everything...
