I’ve been thinking a lot about how theme parks may wish to move away from theater-based and glorified M&G attractions in light of what’s happening now. I imagine the higher-ups would be hesitant to greenlight something like that ATM, anyway. Disney really shot themselves in the foot with the layout of Tomorrowland buildings and attractions.
Hopefully WDI can get extra creative. Maybe the new attraction could be multi-storied? Obviously that becomes more complicated with building, but I’ve always pictured a futuristic place with tall buildings. It’s what major cities do and IMHO would make sense visually. Get some truly inspired architecture to make Tomorrowland truly feel futuristic.

Splash is a unique situation...nothing else like it
Personally I dont see Splash at WDW being fast tracked. Given the project has seemingly faded [no new official anything and only results in CA]
Personally, I'd expect WDW's Splash to be the next "major" ride WDW opens after the upcoming string of Rat, Guardians, and Tron.

That’s a safe bet considering no other major rides have been announced, let alone placed on the timeline, after Rat, Guardians, And Tron.

Definitely sounds like a realistic scenario. I guess that means that any project announced at D23 2022 will finish up sometime after splash, which seems to make sense, since splash isn’t going anywhere until 2022 or 2023, and because of that the re-theme will most likely be underway during the Expo.

Poppins was cancelled. SE is on indefinite hiatus. I don’t see them waiting till 2025 to finish the Future World walkways, that’ll likely be scaled back. Did they announce anything else? It seemed like it was mostly small stuff they could cut?

I’m not an insider, but that’s not happening. It’s close to being finished.
But Martin is, and he did say it’s still on track, as well as Tron.

It's basically done at this point, at least from a structural standpoint. Insiders have said it's on track to open next year.

Disney cancelled an entire resort after it was partially built. Why not a couple rides?

That resort barely had any site work completed. I don’t even think it got to pad, so not vertical.
