I feel like it was stated this was included, but I may be wrong, I really think it is included but I can't remember for sure.I am sure this has been asked, but is this project seperate from the $350mil allocated to MK when the DHS budget was approved?
For six flags an acceptable upgrade. But when the idea or scene on the VR set can actually be obtainable through sets and theming why settle for an image on a pair of goggles?I'm curious if any of you have ridden one yet? My only experience is the shockwave at Six Flags who just implemented the technology earlier this year. It was actually remarkably well done (granted, loading times were hell- but it's Six Flags- what's new?). I was surprised at how fluid it worked and the fact essentially no one feels nauseous afterwards compared to simulators or traditional coasters.
I feel it is a decent "upgrade" if used on an outdated attraction to breathe a little new life into it and generate some rides again. Shockwave, being the example, is just a traditional double loop coaster right next to a highway- the VR made it very different and improved it significantly in both "scenery" and "experience".
But doing something like this on Kraken, I just don't get- as it is a solid floorless coaster already with good views.
The (kind of) good news is I was allowed to openly shoot the whole attraction today. I got it multiple times in HD thanks to some kind cast members for a future project.*sigh* I just realized SGE closes on Saturday. I'm the only one who likes that ride and I'm the only person who will be there for the final performance before it goes seasonal. While sad, I'm really excited for Ralph. Really hoping it's like The Simpsons ride, but each car you sit in, is a different Sugar Rush Racer's car
I know you have nothing but good intentions but SGE really isn't deserving of one of your amazing tributesThe (kind of) good news is I was allowed to openly shoot the whole attraction today. I got it multiple times in HD thanks to some kind cast members for a future project.
Ha. Thank you.I know you have nothing but good intentions but SGE really isn't deserving of one of your amazing tributes
It's Sugar Rush.I apologize if this question has already been answered (I'm not really in the mood to read 50 pages of posts), but do we know what game in Wreck-it-Ralph this attraction will be based on? It looks like some people think it will be Sugar Rush, but I hope it's based on Hero's Duty, which is sci-if themed, so that the attraction will fit better in Tomorrowland and won't stick out like a sore thumb ala Monsters.
Will there be any representation of Hero's Duty via something goes wrong, a "glitch", etc.? Or will this take place entirely in the Sugar Rush game? It's Sugar Rush.
Also, can you give any insight on how the queue will work? I'd imagine you'd enter the pre-load or load area through a giant arcade machine "portal", similar to Enchanted Tales' mirror or MILF's doors (high tech to low tech examples), with a vaguely futuristic arcade leading up to that point.
Okay, so without going into details, will the theming transition smoothly from futuristic to Sugar Rush and back in the queue/postshow, or will it be an abrupt shift from one style to another? In essence, will it be a Frozen Ever After or a Star Tours?I shouldn't go into details but expect the layout up to the main show chambers that we've known since December 1971 to be radically different.
I expect quite a smooth transition as things stand.Okay, so without going into details, will the theming transition smoothly from futuristic to Sugar Rush and back in the queue/postshow, or will it be an abrupt shift from one style to another? That's good to hear! Thanks, as always!I expect quite a smooth transition as things stand.

Eh, maybe just the AAsHa. Thank you.
It's not a bad attraction taken in isolation.
Imo even all the more reason they shouldn't go to major theme parks. At what point does it just end up being in a black room with a kuka arm and a VR headset? Disney has the money for said upgrades to make them an actual realty I.e Disneyland and their holiday version's of attractions. Whether or not tdo will spend is another thing but I don't care for vr in places where it's not needed. As I said before for six flags it's fine and definitely a cost saving measure but for Disney or universal who can make the actual attraction on in vr a reality why would you want to settle for less?Because the future of VR on attractions allows for options that are exceptionally cost prohibitive to do with practical effects. For example, many of the Six Flags parks who started offering VR on their coasters during the summer are offering a new/different experience for Fright Fest and (I've heard rumors) that another option will be offered for their Holiday in the Park event. Moving forward, the system would allow you to be able to choose from multiple different options before the ride starts or even offer randomizing elements that could make literally every ride for every person different. Consider you could have one person riding and have a very family friendly/funny VR experience while the person right next to them is seeing a VR experience that is intended to be exceptionally scary. The system also allows for the VR to be interactive (for example, shooting at targets around the ride vehicle).
The system that Six Flags uses is a relatively "cheep" system and definitely has it's hurdles/downfalls (arguably poor resolution, significantly impacted load times, no/minimal sound, very buggy/glitchy), and I was VERY skeptical of it when I first tried it, but, when working properly, I thought it substantially improved the experience. Would I like to see it installed on a Disney attraction which already has amazing themeing? Of course not, but could I see them adding it to an attraction where the themeing leaves room to be desired (Rock N' Rollercoaster) or generating a completely new attraction based on the technology? Sure...
