Imo even all the more reason they shouldn't go to major theme parks. At what point does it just end up being in a black room with a kuka arm and a VR headset? Disney has the money for said upgrades to make them an actual realty I.e Disneyland and their holiday version's of attractions. Whether or not tdo will spend is another thing but I don't care for vr in places where it's not needed. As I said before for six flags it's fine and definitely a cost saving measure but for Disney or universal who can make the actual attraction on in vr a reality why would you want to settle for less?
The long considered Star Wars speeder bike roller coaster would have been a perfect application of virtual reality, even in a big park. The whole thrill of the speeder bike scenes in Return of the Jedi is the way they dart through these tight forest spaces. With a typical roller coaster the primary view for most people would be the butt of the rider in the next row. You'd never be able to just barely miss hitting a tree nor could an animatronic storm trooper pull right up next to you. There is no safety envelope with virtual reality.

Eh, I'd be with you, except a terrain-following bike coaster through a thick stand of Florida slash pine would be so easy and perfect to do that it would be heartbreak to have to resort to VR goggles.

Honestly, low-rolling terrain-following coasters are just the best things. That's the real reason people adore The Beast and Voyage.

Then why not demo the Speedway and actually build a Sugar Rush race ride in its place? It would make for a better transition between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.

Once again TDO seems to be going a cheaper route.
Yeah, that part I really don't get.
A Sugar Rush-themed speedway with new electric "confectionary" kart vehicles would solve so many problems, thematically and operationally.

Hopefully Youtube won't ever ever do a weird upgrade where they add smell o vision. Not the ride I want to have one of Martins vids have... That smell will haunt me forever. And I only rode it once.

You predicted Muppets in Liberty Square?

Here's the rumor timeline I have for that one...

September 23, 2016: The Disney Parks Blog announced that "The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History will debut on October 2, 2016 in Liberty Square.

September 14, 2016: KennyThePirate.com is reporting that Woody, Jessie and Rafiki will likely be removed from the Magic Kingdom as character meet and greets as money would be re-allocated to "The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History."

July 28, 2016: The Disney Parks Blog confirmed that a new show is coming to Liberty Square this fall called, "The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History."

Sam Eagle, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, the town crier of Liberty Square will present history lessons outside of The Hall of Presidents in the traditional Muppets fashion. The show will feature an original song and is expected to debut in October 2016.

June 29, 2016: *****.com is reporting that testing for the rumored Muppets show will begin soon. The show is expected to feature the Muppets educating guests on American history from the second story windows of Liberty Square.

May 12, 2016: Disney/ABC has canceled The Muppets television show. It is unknown if this will have any bearing on the future of The Muppets in the theme parks.

April 7, 2016: @Blog_Mickey on Twitter posted a photo of a scrim up around the 2nd floor of the Hall of Presidents.

April 6, 2016: wdwmagic posted on their forums that there is some credibility to this rumor. WDWMagic.com user drew81 also reported that this rumor is credible.

April 4, 2016: A report has surfaced that a Muppets inspired attraction may be headed to the second floor of Liberty Square. The original report originated on a fan's Facebook page but was re-posted on WDWMagic.com by user wdwgreek.

Except that Stitch is unpopular and needs to go while the Speedway remains extremely popular. Fix what's broken, now what ain't.
The Speedway isn't extremely popular. It's mediocrely popular. It has a terrible capacity, and honestly, on my last two visits Stitch had just as long of a wait.

I say replace both attractions...and when they're finished they can move Laugh Floor too and put something new in its place.
Heck, let's just redo all of Tomorrowland. (Keeping Peoplemover, Space, and Carousel of course!)
