Stitch's Great Escape Goes Seasonal

I don't dislike the attraction, my argument was that it was a better thematic fit than Ride and Go Seek in Tokyo's Tomorrowland.

I probably like DCA's Monster's Inc ride more than many classic Fantasyland dark rides, but the land it's in is a mess.

I believe you weren't impressed by TDL's ride, which is excellent but absolutely a bad fit there.

It would seem that the DCA version is moving out so that Marvel can move in, even though originally that wasn't the plan.

To the contrary, I really enjoyed Ride and Go Seek, perhaps even more than Hunny Hunt (really a coin toss for me).

Sure Monster's Inc doesn't make sense in Tomorrowland (we've all had the discussions on here about the Laugh Floor), but nothing about the Hollywood Pictures back lot makes sense any more. As it stands right now, you have a Monster's Inc Ride next to a dance party, next to a Broadway show, next to a power plant. But don't worry, a Hollywood cable car drives through it to tie it all together. The land is a disjointed mess, and will be until it gets converted into Marvel.

The speculation is that they'd make it a New York City environment which will fit in perfectly in Disney California Adventure.

Is Tomorrowland that much better?
Both are bad fits, but HPB is worse.

I'm also more ok with IP/cartoons in Tomorrowland relative to other intellectual property arguments I've been steadfastly against.

In a perfect world, Pixar properties would be concentrated into a single area (DHS?) and every land would have a cohesive theme that makes sense.

Monster's Inc doesn't fit in Tomorrowland or Hollywood Pictures Backlot, but the fit is worse in HPB for me.

To be fair hasn't Hollywood Land (most of DCA for that matter) basically just become "throw random attraction that doesn't fit anywhere else here"-Land?

couldn't they move the ride here? DHS still needs a nice little dark ride like monsters inc. But of course they dont do what they need to or should do. :banghead:

We both denounced it I think.

Once the VR side of WiR was scrapped.
I really hope they don't put wreck it Ralph in Tomorrowland. It would be a big mistake. They need to put a new e-ticket,multi level dark ride in place of stitch.
As for monsters, the only film genre lacking at Disney's Hollywood Studios is comedy. That said, they can move Monsters over to that park and put in a new, groundbreaking 3D movie where the screen is not flat: it moves, breathes, and growls at it's visitors...

Also, not sure if anyone agrees but Tomorrowland always reminded me of science fiction, not just the future. That said, they should keep the metal and clunk throughout the land. It's not broken, it just needs new attractions to justify that themed purpose, or design intention.
How 'bout a name change to GALAXYLAND? Or SCI-FI Land?
A Land themed to an infinite universe of galaxies, one of which is in Florida.
Comic book and 1950's era Sci-fi design featured throughout the land. Think about those stereotypical "B-movies" from back in the day :)

Stitch not even open today... bring back Alien Encounter.

I thought the 90's remodel of Tomorrowland was perfect with the retro-futuristic look. Still looks great.

The 90s refurb of Tomorrowland is spot-on indeed. It has always delighted me during the day, and dazzles me at night. When MK goes dark in the evening, Tomorrowland resembles an intergalactic Spaceport :)
I mentioned this somewhere else on the forums, but, a ride-through version of Alien Encounter would be pretty cool. The backstory is similar to the original except, this time, riders teleport directly to Clench, only to discover something has gone wrong....
Plus, since it's a ride-through, guests wouldn't be confused whether it's scary or not :)
