Sorry to say for anyone going in May, I have not been told that is a likely soft opening date. The very earliest seems to be the summer, with official opening set for October 2004.

Thanks Steve! Always great to hear something a bit more "official" than what we have been hearing! :D

I can't wait to see the Stich animitronic now! :sohappy:

SIR may have been reskinned to be one of the other aliens..(Pleakley or the Grand Councilwoman)

Now...it says that the animatronic will have 40 movements...how does that compare to some of the more sophisticated ones at WDW already? (For instance, S.I.R. or the wicked witch in the GMR...or Lucky for that matter)

Hint: if you ride the TTA you can see a little bit of the construction inside. When I went there were a lot of tools and sawdust on the ground. Inside is scrapped, not much but walls.

I wouldn't call 39" large. It's a small figure with a lot of functions crammed into him. It will be definitely hard to maintain. Can you say the Hopping Brer Rabbit at Splash!!

O ya,why was he taken out? I know he was the most expensive animatronic in th eride, but how much could he cost? All he did was say a little and go on hopping away.

Our friend Mickey was 42 inches tall (ah, he can't ride Splash Mountain!) But he was the most advanced Animatronic by 1971 with 33 functions for such a small size.

He performs currently in the Mickey Mouse Revue at Tokyo.

Heard one of the Alien Audio Animatronics is still available to buy back in Property Control. Don't think you can just go back and see it. You need your CM ID to get in.

Any word on if Jumba will be in the show? He is the creator of Stitch and he's in the Chamber scene in the movie. I haven't heard anything about him. Anyone know?

Stitch Preview

I work in Tommorowland and have seen in the 1st waiting room for Stitch. It still needs a lot of work and nothing has been officially mentioned to us about when we will start training on the new attraction I assume towards the end of May they will be closer to finishing and maybe they’ll tell us when we’ll start training. I heard from fellow CMs that they saw Skippy and SIR being removed from the ride. Whether that means they are permanantly removed or just taking out to be recovered to fit into a Stitch theme is unknown to me.

The update also mentioned it will be introduced with FastPass. What I would like to know is how that could possibly work. Alien Encounter never really needed it, so why put it in Stitch? Plus I don't see how it could possible work unless they totally re-format the queue, but where do they have room to put the massive standby line that FastPass is going to create?
