from the latest issue of vacation magic it said 2 characters from ae ,SIR and skippy also appear in the new show. SIR will interact with guests in the center's low securety chamber where he processes prisoners.skippy's role is a suprise except to say he finds himself ina sticky situation.

I think we were all pretty sure that the animatronics of S.I.R. and Skippy would still be there. But my only interest is if the "characters" of S.I.R. and Skippy are still going to be there. And I'm pretty sure that this will not be the case. SO, I could really care less.

Thanks for the update though because I'm sure this might make some AE fans feel better (just not me).

From JimHillMedia.com:

Have you been reading Jim's articles about WDFAF? If you have, you know that Disney let go most of their talented Trad Animators and are closing up shop. Here's where we talk about shortsighted. In the pre-show, and in parts of the main show, there is animation, Stitch being an animated character and all. So you'd think that they'd have kept on enough people to do the animation for the attraction, right? Wrong! Imagineering couldn't find anyone to do Trad Animation for the show, so had to - I kid you not - outsource to a non-Disney animation studio. They eventually hired Renegade Animation to do the job that WDFA was evidently no longer capable of doing.

Jim has had a lot of his "stories" coming true recently regarding animation, so I figure he must have some close ties within WDFA so I guess its probably true. I still can't figure out though why none of the 600 (??) some animators still in Burbank couldn't work on this project. I know they have sold off many of the traditional animation-style desks in Burbank, which may be a reason, but Disney animation people still animate the Stitch series on TV, right? I've watched some of them and they are suprisingly pretty close to the actual movie in style and look of characters. You mean none of these people couldn't do it either? Did Imagineering even ask? I wonder if Imagineering even tried to get it done internally as this story just seems so absurd . I imagine Dean Debouis and Chris Sanders, the creative mind behind Stitch, would want some involvement in seeing their characters make a come back, especially in attraction form (I imagine they are still with the company as they were given contract extensions after Stitch and were among those offered jobs back in Burbank). Afterall, Chris Sanders has been reported to be providing the voice for Stitch in the attraction. Did Imagineering even ask him if he could/wanted to do it? I can't believe outsourcing it in this context would be cheaper, but what do I know. This story is just so unbelievable, not in a way that I don't think it is true, just in a way that I am completely clueless on what is going on and why.

It makes it sound like they couldn't get anyone to do it because everyone in the studio doesn't know how to do trad animation. That's absurd on its own as many of the animators at Disney are simply being "re-trained" in a different medium to make them more diverse artists. That doesn't mean they are now complete morons when it comes to trad animation. Also, who is animating all the TV and direct-to-video stuff. These are Disney animators, right, who know how to do trad animation? Or are these animated by outside facilities too? My question is when were they trying to figure out who would be animating the attraction's stuf in the first place? I can't believe it was before Florida's studio even got their first notion that they might be closed when A few Good Ghosts was shut down last November/December. The attraction was already in forward motion and construction by that time.
