KEYWORD: CONCEPT

From what I was told though, the harnesses will be used for effects, like Stitch sniffing you out among other things.

Of course everything could change. But as of right now, the harnesses will be used in his escape.

The height restriction is for the sound system in the harness things. If you are too short then you wouldn't be able to hear what is going on around you.

I only did AE once. and it was early 2001.

What effects besides the audio effects require the harnesses?

X2, how would having a harness allow Stitch to sniff you out?

I still think that Imagineers would be able to accomplish the same goals, without harnesses if given the time and money to do so. I guess some things will never change.

All the effects you feel are in the harnesses. That's one of the reason why they had you wearing harnesses in Alien Encounter.

Thanks. I couldn't remember.

I guess the harnesses are important.

I thought the water came from the front.. and the vibrating came from the seat itself. You're saying those are from the harness? :)

You're right, but they still need the harnesses for the other effects.

Oh thats simple, sound effects for him inhaling, sound effects and a shot of air when he's exhaling.

The bottom line is, without the harnesses in both AE or SE, the attraction would "die". its pretty much the heart of the attraction.

As far as the water, yes, that did come from the front. But thats not to say that it wont come from the harness as well this time, what with stitchs sneezing and his drool of death.

Looking at the concept art, I see the computer guns on there and Im thinking that they'll have a part in the attraction. More than likely, since the guns are locked onto his DNA signature, when he first shows up in the room, he'll drop his drool around the audience, cause the guns to "fire" at us (More than likely use pressurized air and smoke) while he makes his get away then starts screwin around with us.

I had heard that they will be modifying the restraint system so that they will come all the way down. Whether or not that information is correct remains to be seen.

I'm pretty sad to see AE go. I only got to see it once, last year and I loved it! I'm sure the new Stitch show will be good, but it's still very, very disappointing.

I never got the chance to experiance Alien Encounter, the ride reviews i heard were not too good. Although it's sad to see the ride go it really is good to see that Disney has their eye on the parks and is looking into creative ways to change the attraction to better suit their target market but yet still capture the essence of Alien Encounter. Judging from the concept art the main showroom will look very similar to the orginal room with a few changes to introduce Stich into the mix (laser cannons, new animation on the screens, and stitc animotronic.) Many people are mad that the ride which was very orginal was turned into a ride based on a Disney character, but when you think about it Disney theme parks has always been based upon their characters and it's sure to have a good amount of Disney magic, something that apparently lacking in the orginal attraction.

AE was as magic as any other Disney-related product. The problem is that Guests can't follow directions. It wasn't directed towards very young children, but parents couldn't read dozens of signs so... Crying kids + Guest complaints = bye bye AE.

HA HA HA! Amen! The ignorance of some ruined it for the rest of us.

Tower/of/Terror (or anyone else who knows), where in Disney is the giant statue of Stitch (your avatar picture)? I am planning a trip to Disney and would love to see the Stitch statue up close:)
