Steven Tyler No Longer "Loves" That Idea, He Only "Likes" It

I'm also pretty sure that the ride predates the gesture. I don't think there was any such thing as "the shocker" in 1999.

Oh yes there certainly was.

The earliest online reference I can find to it via a quick search is 2000: http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-24612.html

I would agree, though, that most people (myself included) didn't know about the gesture until 2005 or so: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/showthread.php?t=72207

Neither? A few posts back you suggested that I was the mean old man who thought this was childish behavior for a 68 year old, biting the hand that feeds you.

But now your supporting less outrageous behavior? Which one is it - being hip, cool and outrageous, or acting with a little more class for Disney?

Disney only brought more attention to it by adding the finger as opposed to leaving it. I never knew what that gesture meant. I noticed it every time and saw that it was different, but like many others, I never knew or looked into what it was. Now I think it's kind of funny that he so obviously snuck it in there, but before... had no clue.

So now many question invade my brain. Did they think the change would go unnoticed? Is this some secret ploy to make people realize how "un-family-friendly" Steven Tyler is (or at least acts) and then have an excuse to remove Aerosmith? Or were enough people noticing the gesture in the pre-show to make the change a sure thing? I wonder.

"Way to give me the finger" .... haha, such a fabulous line. Whole response is great. Though I bet Bob Iger will balk when he reads it, and will call Steven Tyler a withdrawal to the brand or something like that.

Some idiot man gave the finger to the camera when I rode space mountain.. I was sad they could not block it out and I couldn't keep the picture :(

The member I quoted asked which was worse the hand gesture or the other "inappropriate" references littered throughout the ride, to which I replied "neither." I'm sorry I missed the memo that stated we were still living by Puritan codes in 2016

You present an interesting contradiction. You critiqued me as a bitter old man, and purist, because I did not find the justure funny, and thought his Facebook response classless. But then you claim you prefer 'neither' jesters like that, or obscene language in the music. So I am confused on why you called me out as an old man if you basically agree.

So, what I am reading is that it's ok for you to want neither behaviors, but not me. Sorry I don't drool over everything a celebrity does.

I'd rather Disney blocked out drunk wife batterer Johnny from their rides than some rockstar being rock 'n roll.

Omg,

He's saying he believes neither behavior is worse than the other and that he's ok with both.
