Starbucks at WDW

A little off topic (sort of) but does anyone know what happened to the Starbucks in Universal/City Walk? Are they still there or did they need to go exclusively to Disney? I loved the Bucks in and around Universal. Always a good vibe (and seating!) :)

It was still in Citywalk when I was there in June and its still listed on Universal's website. So I think Starbucks is gonna stay there.

Starbucks in Universal isn't going anywhere.
Starbucks in SeaWorld isn't going anywhere.
Starbucks in WDW isn't going anywhere.

God forbid one should encounter original concepts in themed environments. The modern theme park rube couldn't stomach it!

Its coffee. There is no barista with piercing all over their face, modern art, and indie music playing in the Main St. location. They designed the inside to fit the rest of Main St. And its actual coffee, not that NesCafe junk.

If any other coffee company came in and did the same thing, no one would be mad.

Its not the best coffee in the world, but its there and its better than what they had. Everything is a brand nowadays. There is no escaping it. No matter what coffee they serve, it will be a brand that you might see elsewhere. Starbucks made the best offer and despite being expensive in the real world, their prices seem about right in hostage situations like theme parks and airports. The fact they didn't jack the prices up even more for their Disney locations makes me fine with being a theme park rube. I'm getting my caffeine, I can get it iced and have control over how sweet it is, and that is all I desire. If Starbucks is offering me that, fine I'll take Starbucks.

If they wanted to add a starbucks(I do not like their coffee, yuck) they should have put it somewhere else and not taken the main street bakery away. Most people loved the baked goods the MSB had and having starbucks pastries are not the same thing.

I think most people is a bit of a leap. I have been going to WDW for 30 years and have never set foot in the Bakery. I don't go there to eat (Tee Hee...I can do that at home) I go to WDW to be entertained. Also, not to be mean, but just for the sake of reality, if MOST people were to imply majority then the old Bakery would still be there I think.

True but Personally For me and DH it's not about the outside its how nothing we used to like inside is there anymore. It is just Starbucks that me and DH can visit at home any time with all the same food and drink offerings. Nothing special to us personally anymore that's all. Not angry about it etc just very disappointing to us to have a "franchise" in old MSB spot whether the fasad fits in or not. :(
there's always yummies at the Boardwalk bakery :)

Not necessarily as Disney or any company for that matter do not soley make decisions based on what he majority of customers want unfortunately. Also ALOT of folks go to The world to enjoy dining/food as well as entertainment. The food is a big part of alot of our experiences and one of the reasons we enjoy the trips so much. Dining is what we personally look forward to the most and I know that stands true for alot of us on these boards as well. We eat fairly healthy all year and when we vacation anywhere we love the food we get to enjoy. :)

It's still there. Starbucks did not make any exclusive deals with Disney of that nature. :)

Like said many times before..It's not the coffee we have a problem with! The main thing that has been the issue is taking away the "bakery" as we knew it and replacing it with mostly non Disney pastries and baked goods, and only leaving us with a few cookies and cupcakes that were there before and no seating inside. That's all again it is not about what coffee is served there no matter what brand it is. :)

There always seemed to be a line every time I tried to go. I will say the most people who actually liked the bakery, I would think, want to keep it the way it was and not change it to a starbucks.

I do not disagree with that assessment. But when you take the numbers and compare them to the actual park admissions, it was hardly a majority lined up there.
