Who's next to be "Voted" er.. closed down on the island???

Rumor a couple weeks ago was that the second Planet Hollywood store (by Magnetron) would follow soon after Starbillas in closing down. Personally, I don't see how Hoi Polloi or Pop Art stay in business given the economy and the enormous rents they must pay, would not be shocked to see either go next.

I really liked going into Starbilia's. I collect movie memorabilia so it was nice to look at some cool pieces.. Their prices where way too high. I only saw one item sold and it was being wrapped up for shipment....

Agreed.
I have some autographed memorabilia that was just as nice as some that they had, only I got it for a fraction of the price. Actually the same could be said of Sid's over at DHS, nice stuff but overpriced.

Right now, I just keep repeating...Change is good, Change is good....I can only hope that Disney has a plan...I hate seeing empty store fronts....I did hear they were scaling back the monster coaster and possibly putting it in the empty store location :ROFLOL:

:( That's a shame. I have great memories from this store. Who could forget the life size characters and posters. (even though I couldn't afford anything there)

The closings of today's Downtown Disney is like Gravity, all it took was pushing the Adventurer's Club down the hill first...

What a load of garbage.
AC's closing has nothing to do with stores closing in Disneys West Side.
It's the economy..no one is spending money...well except my wife.

They sure are freeing up a lot of space for the new Downtown Disney Wal-Mart. It may even be a Super Wal-Mart!

It's really time for some Urban Renewal in DTD.

The West Side "Ghetto" and the Pleasure Island "Midtown" need some economic stimulus.

Hey at least they haven't gone to bringing merchants to sell the secondary "Disney Magic 2009" T-shirts and other roadside trinkets..Let's just set up a Dollar Tree there as well..Make the West Side The Discount District....
