I know! I wish they would do something crazy like... well, hmmm... have a premier on a gigantic screen at the Fantasmic theater! :drevil:

Now that would be the ultimate way to see Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith!!!!!!!!!! Who knows, maybe they will read this and think it's a great idea. Wishful thinking???

to add to the list of characters, when I was there (years ago) Luke, Han, Greedo, and one of the ogre-like guards of Jabba (forgive me Star Wars fans, but I forget what those fellas were called...it's been a looooong time since I watched Star Wars) were also there. My personal favorites were the jawas, Greedo (he was SO cool looking...and it was one of the coolest pictures with a character I have), and the Cantina Band (gotta love the band!). And the Luke they had that year was SO much more handsome than Mark Hamill...too bad Han didn't look more like Harrison Ford...he would've been at the top of my favorite character list for sure! :animwink:

Anyway, I love Star Wars Weekends (even though since the debut of LotR on the big screen, my SW fandom has fallen by the way-side). They're such a blast! I'd love to go back again when that's going on!

Count me in if you guys go and meet as a group. I've always meant to go, but never could before due to lack of transportation or other issues.

I really hope they have something in May then. The whole point of spending thousands on this trip IS the star wars weekends. I can't imagine telling my 9 yr. old that there is no starwars stuff. I'll have to call guest relations and demand some info. :fork:

Man, if you have the opportunity to go to a Star Wars Weekend do yourself a favor and go. I went by accident 3 years ago (I showed up at MGM without knowing it was a SW weekend) and was wowed. If you are the least bit of a Star Wars geek you'll think this is awesome. Stormtroopers stationed everywhere telling people to move along. The "random" lightsaber fight. Darth Vader being escorted through the crowd with Imperial guards. Not to mention the actors giving autographs and characters posing for photos. So cool, I am definatly going again this year.

I worked the Star Wars weekends this past year (I won't say as who...some keeping don't like hearing it) and we were told that they would be having the weekends this coming year. I think they were even going to try to send our Mauls to a premiere. I can't think of any reason why we wouldn't have it aside from us having to keep in close contact with Lucas' people and them being being so busy.

i was at the most recent Star Wars Weekends and had a great time. my fiance was in heaven :) we rode Star Tours a few times and got some really good pictures of the Emperor with his guards as well as Chewbacca and the cantina band. i'd recommend it to anyone, even if you're a pseudo-Star Wars geek

I love the Star Wars weekends, but I do know that they were "adjusted" somewhat when the last two official Star Wars Fan Club "Celebrations" occurred in the Midwest. This year it is in Indianapolis (see www.starwarscelebration.com ). I hope they can do both.

Also, does anyone know anything about the official Hollywood premiere this time? They usually do it at the real Grauman's Chinese (where the famous pictures came, of the lines around the block in 1977). http://www.manntheatres.com/chinese/index.htm is their website, but no real news there ... yet! (Cool, though, to see the real thing and compare it to Disney-MGM Studios' version! I would love to fly out there and see the real premiere.

Well the official site has SW weekends listed with 2005 dates so I would say that as of now they are planning to have them!

Couldn't get the link to paste so I typed it out - hope it works

Both times we've been to WDW we happened to hit MGM on a STW. (We didn't specifically plan the dates of our trips around STW, but went to MGM on the weekend while we were there, since we happened to visit at the right time). But seems like I recall that both years (2000 and 2004) the actual events weren't posted until just a few weeks before the weekend in question. None of the stars were any "big name" stars, they were more like conceptual artists and actors with tiny parts. Then to top that off, you had to be there WAY early to get a fastpass to even meet the "stars" that were there.

I was very disappointed in the availability of the specialty merchandise, specifically the plush Jedi Mickey. They said they were limited and sold out the first weekend. Something like that should have been split up over all the weekends, or not limited so much. I would have thought there would have been limited edition or park exclusive action figures or something like that.

Overall, there were a lot of characters and photo ops, but personally I'm not sure the extra crowds were worth it! But then again, I'm not the SW fan, my hubbie is, so he'd probably disagree! :hammer:
