Star Wars Weekends 2014

Yeah, by all accounts Mark Hamill is a nice guy. Also, I've heard he's got enough money that he can do pretty much whatever he wants. And, while some will forever link him as Luke Skywalker, to me, it's his Joker character that I hope he winds up being best known for.
Best joker ever ledger was great but Hamill will always be the joker. His performances in the direct to DVD movies and the Arkham games except for newsest ones are the greatest joker performances ever.

I will be there over two SWW's. If I'm not interested in autographs, what else is unique about these events...I have two sons, both who enjoy SW. But my oldest is 14, so that only goes so far, honestly.

Not sure what the shows will be like this year since they're in transition. Behind The Force was great because it had the voice talents from The Clone Wars tv show. Hopefully it will still have them this year and will also show a preview of Rebels. Stars Of The Saga is hit or miss depending on who the stars are for that weekend.

There's also the huge merch tent near Rock n Rollercoaster and the 501st parade (which shouldn't be missed). Get to the parade early though and stake out your spot or else you won't be able to see anything since they shortened the parade route a couple of years ago.

Got it a few years ago when he was at SWW. Decent guy, but not the most engaging. It was kind of a sign and slide experience without much conversation. When you compare him to the other SW personalities like Ray Park, Jeremy Bulloch, Warwick Davis, etc he might as well have been signing robot.
Billy Dee is looking old. Saw him and listened to him on a panel this past weekend at a con. His sidekick kept having to prompt him during the whole thing. Still, he has some stories to tell.

I wouldn't hold my breath. He may be included in Episode VII, which would most certainly mean his stock will rise and that he may be unavailable this summer.

As of this past weekend he is still not in. He confirmed his lack of confirmation in being in the new films... yet. They were pushing #BringBackLando throughout the panel he was in at Pensacon.

A reputable leak for Ep VII news has said that he is in it. They confirmed that the entire gang will be back, including Mayhew and Williams.

Thanks for the help!!

What is Rebels? A new show?

I never had much use for the show, but I've been shocked by the almost universal condemnation of this on Facebook--not just my lifestyler friends who go in costume every weekend, but Disney fans I thought were only vaguely aware the movies even existed. We're talking near "closing of PI" outrage.
I wouldn't be shocked to hear they cut out the 501st either. Having guests depict characters is even worse than the Hoopla in my humble opinion. Any of your tendrils reach into that community?

Surprisingly not on this coast--do they even pay them tho? I thought it was strictly a voluntary thing.

No pay just voluntary. But if the purpose here is to protect the brand, they're toast

I think the 501st costumes are at least as good, and usually superior to what cast members are wearing. It's not so obvious anymore, but when they first started SWW, the 501st costumes put the Disney costumes to shame.

Did anyone see the post on the Disney Blog about the Rebel Rendezvous?

Basically, Disney has given up trying to stop the Ebay scalpers, and a are now cashing in on part of the action by charging scalpers $250 for the right to by SWW exclusive merchandise the day before SWW officially opens. Classic.

Oh - and they get a free hat and keychain or something. Definitely worth $250.

Thank Mickey that someone saw the light and decided to stop making a joke out of one of the best cinematic villains ever created.

Don't blame Mickey. That ship sailed the moment this happened:

In all seriousness my family and I are really bummed. The Hoopla was good dumb fun in our eyes and we'll miss it.
