Yup. There's a ton of property out there, some of it that Disney has held for two decades or more, and some of it that has been purchased in just the last three years.

Disney is on a roll financially, and they aren't just buying back their own stock and building Cars Land with it. They own a lot of property.

Here is an interesting question, doesnt california adventure have to close down the Monorail for awhile in order to build Marvel Land behind Hollywood Land? If they do, would Disneyland decrease rider capacity by having it close down along with the River Boats and the Train in Disneyland or would they wait until the River boats and the train are back up before they start building the rumored Marvel Land?

Not sure why they would as the rumored Marvel Land is behind Tower of Terror while the monorail runs across the front of the park.

The Marvel area wouldn't be in the monorails path. I assumed it's still destined for the area near Tower of Terror.

The track of the Disneyland Railroad will be realigned for the first time since 1965, when the rails were rerouted further north to prepare for the arrival of It’s A Small World and adjusted on the eastern side of the park for the new Primeval World diorama.

It's actually really simple to figure out the recipe with some reverse engineering and the proper equipment.

It's the Coca-Cola PROCESS paired with the recipie that is near impossible to recreate.

Your right it would have been affected if the Monstropolis plans were still happening in Hollywood land, but since Marvel Land would be behind Tower of Terror it wouldnt affect it at all.

A few months ago the media finally caught on to this story and via city records was able to piece together some of the recent property Disney has purchased, such as 1515 South Manchester, 1585 South Manchester and 1622-66 South Clementine. As for the rest? Only the shadow knows. And a very happy real estate agent in Villa Park.

Interesting historical story. When Dave Smith became the first Disney Archivist in the early 1970s, one of his early project was a map of Disneyland and surrounding environs made with colored pencils that showed Disney's property ownership. It was shaded to show which land Disney owned and/or occupied. This included the Global Van Lines HQ where TDA sits today and the McDonalds site on Harbor. There were small motels on Katella and West St. like Heidi and Peter Pan that Disney owned and operated without publicly advertising it because of the Wrather exclusive on the Disney name for lodging in CA. These were absorbed into the Resort with DCA.

I think the irony is how profligate Disney has been with land in DCA. The one thing they can't make more of is land, yet they built the Grand Californian on the East side of the street with a huge footprint. It's a fabulous hotel, but it takes up a lot of space. The have repeatedly built support buildings for offices and storage above-ground and nothing below-ground, other than Soarin'.

Yet they're getting ready to do an unprecedented relocation of support services, including the Staff Shops which are 60 years old. Ahhhh, the irony!

I did this image up in August right after Disney announced SWL (posted it to Micechat)-

I was playing around in google earth to look at areas in the generally understood area that the land would be that added up to 14 acres. This was one of the options I came up with after playing a bit with buildings I realized that the thin strip on the West side of the ROA was big enough to hold an attraction the size of say Star Tours or something like that with walkway room to spare. It would make logistical sense to 'build out' that side of the park and connect the Critter Country dead end to the rest of the park some how.

You've mentioned that all of the buildings in this area have received notifications that they are moving etc. except for one (where you have 'no info')-

5. Staff Shops North of Pooh Bear to the top of RoA are relocating off-site. This includes Paint, Mill, Metal, and Cycle Shops.

Your statements and my google earth measurement of '14 acres' within that yellow area (which allows for an access road along the very western edge) lead me to think that SWL is going right there and wrapping around the RoA. There's more than enough space where the ranch is to have this 'main' area-

And the thin strip heading southwest out of there down toward Critter Country would match up nicely with this intimate art Disney released here-

I foresee an entrance at Big Thunder Ranch, Critter Country (right where the gate is perhaps widened a bit (remove a bit of the south side of the store), and perhaps a 3rd entrance at ToonTown (chip and dales tree could go and that would be a perfect straightaway into the area for SWL. People have to realize that Disney would be insane to only have one entrance to a land of this scale and popularity. Okey dokey, I wanted to spit my thoughts out here and see what y'all say. Cheers.

At least Fantasmic can get some more updates during the construction of Star Wars Land. Such as adding Talking Mickey.

Thanks, and great drawing (but I didn't know anyone still contributed/donated their work to Micechat--I find them greedy and ungrateful).

The only correction I would make is the lower West side. The long Staff Shop building is where the service road will go. As a result, I think it unlikely the transition to SWL from CC will be near the exit to Splash. My guess is that it will be somewhere around Hungry Bear. But I'm flying in the dark on that one, just like everyone else.

I don't know people are so reluctant to believe that Disneyland would completely eff up Frontierland/ROA/etc. It's not like the higher-ups have some deeply lodged affinity for any of the parks. They just want their franchises shoved in ASAP.

Star Wars deserves a third gate in Anaheim. Frozen deserves its own land in Orlando.
