Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

@SWGalaxysEdge You obviously have some inside connections as well. Are you also hearing of this potential delay? It just seems like such a bad move to be ramping up advertising and having spots/specials on national TV that all give a date that is unlikely to be met.

12/14? What happened to 12/5? Are they not currently doing all these media promos stating a 12/5 opening at WDW?

If it doesn't open on the 5th, I guess we'll have to be prepared to tack a day onto our tickets. The 13th is our last planned park day, with a mid-afternoon flight home on the 14th. At least the 13th is going to be Studios, so if there's any soft opens, we'd be there.

The issue isn't one of the attraction being unfinished (for CA at least), it is of reliability now. The attraction could open today, it just would be out unmodified ride vehicles and would have terrible capacity.

So they'll forge ahead towards the pre-determined opening dates regardless. There really isn't risk that it won't open, just how many guests it will reliably cycle and not run like Hagrid publicly for months.

That would be bad publicity if it opened like that. Only one chance to make a first impression.

I 100% agree. Experienced the attraction for the first time yesterday (it was a blast) but 2-3 more missions would be a WORLD of a difference. The ride has potential to be fantastic. Currently it is “very good”.

I did ask about the other missions and there's still nothing as far as chatter. I have to only assume they are holding off an anything till RotR is out and "loved by everyone" lol

That is my understanding of the situation as well. Be prepared to wait! I do wonder if they’ll bring back XEMH to give resort guests a leg-up. It’s been considered but they are upset they’re spending so much in September and October when it’s not needed. In December I bet it will be needed.

If the ride can open at 6 am daily.

I'm actually hearing more about CA being behind. They are using some of their resources to help get WDW get ready for 12/5 or 12/14 or whatever the date might be. I have not anything "bad" about CA like I used to hear. WDW has been fairly quiet which I am guessing is on purpose. Like someone else said, Happy Face to the public, Sad Face behind closed doors.

I did say it a big ago, but CA is still working on converting the ride cars - adding the ADA doors in the front. Last week it was 28 cars left to do (out of 38)

..and I just saw something about Hagrid's getting shut down over bugs or something? How long is that ride running every day...10 minutes?

I’m surprised the Bobs decided to join in that picture. They really do have high expectations for the ride. I imagine they’ll essentially reopen the land as well. I do hope it’s running reliably by opening.

It was closed the other days due to bees swarming. Since you cannot just kill them, they had to have a specialist come and remove them. (Other than that, its been running pretty reliable. Posted wait times have been down to 60-75 minutes and actual wait times as low as 45 minutes)
