Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Can anyone that has information on this comment on how thrilling this ride is going to be? As far as Disney goes I would put Everest and rockin roller coaster near the top. I know this is a very different kind of ride obviously. It seems to have elements of tower of terror, Star tours, and a traditional dark ride. I'm just wondering if it will have the thrills to make people want to ride it over and over again or if it's more just story-based with very little in the way of thrills.

Not saying a ride can't have good re-ride ability without thrills. Just more curious than anything.
For a ride does not need to be big thrill ride for people to love a ride.FOP is imo the best ride Disney world has right now and I do not feel it is a thrill ride, people love SDD and I do not think that is a thrill ride too.Never been on FBJ so I do not know if it is a thrill ride or not but I saw a POV video of it and it does not seem like a thrill ride to me.

I just updated my page with that (did you ask there too?)- I updated my graphic.
The 2 square shapes inside the light blue box are the elevators that raise the vehicles up to the second floor.
Added a construction image to help see the size, as well. In this 2nd image you can see the shaft area on the far right.

Sometimes you can be silenced if everyone else is loud.

Presently perhaps 5% are loud and negative while the other 95% say “it’s okay” timidly.

If the other 95% were shouting, “it’s the best thing since the Mickey Waffle!” the 5% would be ignored.

The percentages might be slightly off, but this was what I felt after Epcot Forever. My first reaction while surrounded by a crowd of people that were applauding was to whisper to my friend, "I didn't like it." It was only after we met up with other people that felt that same way we did that we discussed the technical and creative problems with it.

I suspect it will land somewhere on the spectrum between Pirates and Splash Mountain in terms of thrills - the motion drop finale should be more intense than the one small drop on Pirates, but less intense than the more major drops on Splash, and with fewer physical thrills overall than Splash offers. It sounds like the ride bases most of its offerings around impressive and elaborate show scenes, like Pirates and Splash Mountain, but pumps in a level of thrill for some spice that sits between those two rides in intensity.

Is my guess.

As a local who booked a hotel as soon as the 8/29 opening date was announced (and no perks were granted to resort guests the first 3 days 😢), I’m hoping they give some hotel benefits this time around as I booked one again 🤩🤩🤩

Something I missed. I was looking again as some "source materials" and noticed I completely missed a part of the RotR crash.
There are 2 screens, one on each side of the elevators/escape pods, and, the crash footage is being projected on them.
Plus you drive forward into the elevator. Updated drawing and report of the crash footage (blurry on purpose)

Do you know how ride stops will be handled? Will the Stormtroopers battling pause fighting for an ECV to load?

Could imagine it needs to be handled pretty seamlessly like the delay sections on MFSR or would really ruin the intense experience.

I don't think this ride requires the other vehicles to stop while an ECV loads - they might just hold the dispatch of that particular vehicle for an extra moment. The ones already in the ride would be free to continue.

..I forgot to say, each ECV will load behind a closed door (interrogation room) and once ready to go, the door will open to let you out into show space. I am working on cleaning up some "source materials" so I can post here for digestion. (over a thousand years...) lol

Everything on the 1st Floor. Here's the first floor layout.

You'll be led into one of the four loading rooms (doors to show space are closed) - you load up and your door opens. The open space is what you saw in the promo video with the First Order officer inspecting the ride vehicle. You then continue through show space, winding through the hallway and come upon the AT-AT room. The 2 cars separate and each take an elevator to the top, - that;s the end of that half of the first floor.

The other side of my drawing (bottom-left side) you see the 4 (marked green) elevators coming from the 2nd floor (escape pods) - after they crash land, they roll out and follow the curved path to the unload area at the bottom. (4 grey boxes) the cars then travel back to the start area to be recycled for more passengers.

That doesn't seem to allow all that much time to view the AT-ATs...
