They made you empty your pockets at Dueling Dragons (well, whatever it was called after that, before they ripped it out to build Hagrid's) and you had to walk through a metal detector before you could queue up. I could see this as a possibility if too many people are holding up the line with selfies and the like... or maybe they just put in cell jammers so your phone is almost useless once in the queue. :)

After the nightmare that wireless control has caused this ride its hard to imagine them installing anything to impede wireless communication of any kind. No cell phones couldn’t hurt.

But that was out of necessity because of that guest injury (and risk of lawsuit). Selfies of the sexiest room in the shiny, new ride are the best advertising there is. I don't see Disney undercutting that by making guests give up their phones.

That's a fair point. There does need to be some balance between people holding things up while taking pictures and getting people actually on the ride, just hoping this doesn't become "a thing". I don't hesitate to mention, out loud, that people need to move if they're holding up a line I'm in. ;)

I'd think that it would be as simple as the CMs just telling people to hurry up. Shouting at them to move their arses would actually be quite in character in this ride, lol.

TIME TO ANALYZE.

...video is broken again.

Edit: It’s fixed...next to no new stuff...no hallway shot, only hanger room and Poe’s X-Wing. They also have that annoying GMA exclusive bumper so it’s super hard to see the whole shot.

Wow! This looks very cool! I really hope the ride is as good as they say it is! I really think Galaxy's Edge will be better when the ride opens but it will definitely need more things in the future. I can't wait to see the cool animatronics!

If this is as good as they promise to be Galaxy’s Edge will become the best land Disney has ever created. (For me it already is). It will solve lots of problems people have with Batuu as well.

Anyone know how fastpass+ will work for RoTR? I heard it won't be a option for when it opens but what does that mean? Like it won't be available for opening day but will be after opening day? or does it mean it won't be available until crowds die down?

We know nothing about anything Fastpass related in Galaxy’s Edge but considering their appears to be a fastpass line for Rise I’d imagine it would be added WAY down the line (Could be single rider though). It might actually be better fastpass doesn’t become implemented, the results speak for themselves.

I don't think people have been waiting for RotR to open really. Most normal people don't even know about it. Next time you are in SWGE, just hang out at the entrance of RotR and watch people come up to CMs asking "What is this? A ride? Can we get in line?" It was a shocking amount of people who had no idea there was an attraction not even open yet.

No single rider line.

The thought process...if it’s a good ride people will come. Word of mouth and Disney PR will make sure people are aware.

I have to wonder what Disney's takeaway would be if it turned out that they saw the success they were looking for in Galaxy's Edge once Rise of the Resistance opens -- do you think they'd finally get the memo that the things people really get jazzed about in a theme park are exceptional rides?

Not that I want the parks to be devoid of other types of experiences, but . . . the thing that gets me to spend more money while I'm at Walt Disney World isn't being given the chance to spend more money, it's being given the chance to commemorate an experience that swept me off my feet. Which is why 50 years later people will still spend big bucks on Haunted Mansion merchandise.

How many of those Banshee Puppets do you guys think Pandora would sell if they hadn't built Flight of Passage?
