Newbie question: I have backup boarding group 62. Does that mean we have all the regular groups and 61 backup groups ahead of us? Or does that mean I am in the 62nd group?

The latter. There are 61 regular or backup boarding groups ahead of you. Hope you get to ride today tho!!

I don’t often self-plug, but coming in December is a huge edit I’ve made of Rise of the Resistance. I’ve taken an in depth look at the lands origins, the rides design, layout and construction, and then the whole experience from walk in to walk out, using a good two dozen ride throughs to select the best angles and to ensure no detail is missed, from the preshow to the transport, from the Star Destroyer to the ride. The audio mix is also one of my better-than-just-live custom mixes.

Given the state of the world this year I couldn’t have produced this without the help of some generous friends and websites, WDWMagic included.
So looking forward to this Martin. Thanks for all the hard work and effort you put into these things! But since I can’t remember what I did yesterday or what I ate this morning, a quick pm to me when it’s available is appreciated! Lol 🙂

It was a excellent guide to the process but wow, there is no better way? My head hurts after reading that.

This forum has come up with at least half a dozen ‘better ways’... but unfortunately we’re all stuck with ‘the Disney way’ lol.

At least this all happens at a reasonable time of the morning these days.

No matter what way they do it, someone gets screwed. BUT, Disney is already in a rockier position with resort guests, so they decided to give them (the Resort Bus, Walking Path, and Skyliner groups) priority, effectively giving them a head start on parking guests. Plus, then it minimizes their “rope drop points” to the bus holding area, the toll booths (where people are safely in their cars), and the Skyliner stations (which have set queues to deal with this).

Disney is missing a huge opportunity to add after hours events to the park as a separate ticket. IMO.

64 is the last group of the night, called around 7:20pm (13 groups less than yesterday).

I was 62 and made it on! We did a 1 day diversion on our beach vacation and didn’t know if we’d make it on the ride. My party except for me was going to leave the park, but their Uber cancelled on them after 25 minutes. They decided to join me on the ride since they were still there!

Looks like The Resistance needed y’all’s help today!! 😤

That’s great to hear tho! It really is an amazing experience to enjoy with everyone!

I was in boarding group 1 today. I think myself and one guy in front of me were the first 2 into the attraction for the day. Made it into the hanger, by the time I got towards the interrogation room, was informed the attraction was down and was then escorted out and given a fastpass to return any time today. Came back around 5:45pm, made it back into the hanger, went down again. This time they let us wait it out if we wanted to, so I sat on some black bench-like first order apparatus thingamagig until 6:35pm when it came back up and was able to ride successfully.

What was your secret to get BG 1, was it just fast fingers?
