Backup boarding groups were gone today at 8:39am. The first backup group is 63.
Any idea, supported or not, why some days back ups go so quickly and other days they are available much longer?
Can it be attendance? Maybe day of the week? App glitchiness prolonging the boarding group process???

Tried the same alternative method again today (staying on the status page until 8 and then swiping back). Worked great on my iPhone, but there was an issue with it on my Pixel 3a, so I can't recommend it. Tomorrow morning I'll be testing out another method that should work even if you load the app during one of the "forbidden times" like 7:56:30.
Does it involve using airplane mode by any chance?

The first backup (63) called ~12:45.

Who you think you are, @DCBaker ?

I’m not listening to you

After a robust afternoon, group 142, called just after 6pm, will likely be the last group of the night.
We can probably assume that that was the final group given out today. Even on days that they all are gone in 2 mins, I still feel like this is probably what they typically distribute.

They have to come up with a better system than just saying “hey we had a good day and we got through all of the groups but we have 2 1/2 hours till close, so screw it, close it up”.

There are plenty of days where they don’t get through all the groups or they go right to park closing. So that extra two hours shouldn’t make or break any maintenance time that’s needed to prep for the next day.

Obviously you can’t just randomly open standby, cause a crush of people and then cut it off, it would be chaos. But I understand the logic of not issuing 170 boarding groups and then some people not getting to ride. Servicing all the groups keeps guests happy and less complaining. But still a waste of the attractions time not running it more.

Rode it back in December, thinking of going Sunday and also trying to do Mickeys Railway. Is it still a show up before 7am to get a BG thing ?
