DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Tried to get a boarding group for my wife and I. I showed up in MDE but my wife didn’t on my phone. I got boarding group 43 solo but my wife was trying to get a pass for the two of us and couldn’t because I had one. Gave up 43 because I thought it would have both of us. On my wife’s phone she got us 102. Pretty much expecting to not ride today.

Definitely glitchy!

Oh no! You should have kept your 43 and have guest services add her. 102 is not terrible. I’m sitting on a bus to MK and a couple next to me have 104 and feel good about it. I don’t think they’ll wanna hand out fast passes two days in a row.

If I had known that was an option I would have done that. I panicked lol. Never was a huge fan of MDE and now I’m really not a fan. Still not optimistic.

Ah, I understand the panic. This was my 8th rope drop and I’m basically shaking every time

I hope you get on! I wouldn’t lose hope already.

On to the third ride! Earliest time in the park by 30 minutes but also the lowest boarding group by 50.

Dragged my aunt out and while she’s not too keen on getting up this early I’m sure she’ll be blown away in a couple hours.

Backups filled up as of 7:44am. Groups called up to 20 as of now.

Good luck to everyone there! Hopefully the ride operates smoothly and chugs through these BG's! #jealous

Per Facebook AP group, we’ve had our first delay of the morning and ride is down.

Well it they came no where close to even all the regular roups today, there were a ton of regular groups that didn't get called.

correct, only made it to Boarding Group 70.....many regs didn’t get called and many comps were distributed. We were able to ride, and our Boarding Group 66 was called at 7:01 P.M. with an arrival window that ended at 9:01 P.M.......that’s OVER an hour AFTER Park close, just to ARRIVE to get in line!

Remember when you were thinking you’d be called too early today? Oh boy, the consistent inconsistency. Is 61 gonna make it?

I heard that!

The thought of strategy "to get a later Call" as well as the thinking Boarding Group 66 was our sweet spot? Dah hee HEE.....and oops.

Anywho, the made it to Boarding Group 70 and we were able to ride.

I must point out how flexible we had to be to make our day "work". We didn't have issue with rearranging plans, as we were going to the After Hours at MK late night, but being THAT flexible is not possible for all....

.....and some of the Cast Members were REALLY earning their keep!!


Last note...we would have taken the comp offered vs riding the ride, but our BG was called.

How long was your wait once you finally went in? They called a lot right at the end but I’m sure a lot had bailed.

I have been at MK all morning, and was able to rope drop mine train, while ROTR has trudged along again. Hoping a call by noon is realistic?

Who knows? Had yesterday not have happened, I would have said Group 57 would be called somewhere around 12-2.....but who knows now

BG 21-27 is the current status, so maybe you'll get in before mid-afternoon

I believe so. But it’s still a more than reasonable accommodation. We can’t expect them to give out the same compensation for not being able to ride forever.

Maybe they should have built something that people wont have to grasp at straws to ride forever....hmm.

MK has been great, got a ton of things done the first two hours. It’s starting to fill up a bit now but I’ve already done Mine Train, Pan, Small World, JC, Pirates and HM

Forgot to answer you're initial question.....it took 45 mins or so once actually scanned in and in line.....the que is really cool and you'll enjoy that was well

That’s not terrible. I try and play that Disney parks app in it sometimes but usually we’re walking through a little too quick to scan and tell what’s going on.

There are couple of places in the que that actually tell you what is going to happen........it's amazing how we notice something "new" every time we ride!

Brought tears to my eyes. So immersive! 32 years ago when I was 12 if I was told that I’d get to ride something like this I would have never believed it!

Didn't get to ride RotR (hopefully next time!), but I was impressed by Galaxy's Edge. It didn't blow me away, but it was very cool and it feels like you've left Hollywood Studios and gone to a totally different place.

It also looks even better when you compare it to Toy Story Land next door, which is embarrassingly bad.
