Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
Left my house at 11pm, made a little better time than I thought, wasn’t going to rope drop this til tomorrow, but since I was in town at 5am anyway (450 miles later)... 
At about 5:03 there was about 10-12 people at each turnstile except the far right set of two, so good tip to go there folks, I’m first in that line! Planning to try to knock out SDD first since I’ve done MF 5-6 times over the last two trips and work toward ToT til my group is called (hopefully before noon when my AK FPs start up!).
Have my wifi and Bluetooth turned off and plan to completely restart the phone about 6:45 to clear out any memory draining other programs and have an alarm set for 6:59 so I can count down the seconds on my watch til the melee begins.

[edit] Disregard the following, there was finger scans today. Sounds like there’s not going to be finger scanning today either, guy was training a newbie a few minutes ago to cover the finger scanners so guests don’t get bottled up trying to do them today.

I’ve found that good rule of thumb is: if there is no cover on the tapstile, they’re going to staff it, might as well go stand in front of it, someone will be there before they open to let people through

Doing this for the second time. Crowds are half the size they were this same time last week.

-Parked around 6:10
-Relaxed in warm car until I heard the announcement sounding off around 6:20
-Left and walked to outdoor bathroom to use and got in bag line at 6:26 (saw through gates people were already being let in)
-Got through bag line at 6:30
-Went far right and got in the park at 6:36
Now sitting on the sidewalk watching people go crowd up by the Chinese theater. Have to leave by a certain time so hoping for anything below 70 but we’ll see. I rode it before so won’t be the end of the world if I get a high number. Will just use up my SDD FP and ride other stuff before heading out if that happens.
Also witnessed a father abandon his family in the bag line saying he needed to get in the park ASAP to get in line and for his family to meet him at the ride...wondering where he’s at now

Edit- For anyone curious on the method, I turned my phone (iPhone 7s+) off and cut it back on about 6:55 or so to clear and apps tying up memory, didn’t click on the app until 6:59, looked at my Apple Watch until the seconds column ticked to 7:00:00 and clicked the “Find out more” button on the app at the same instant, join a group wasn’t lit, so I immediately clicked on “check status” and that screen had the “join group” button activated and got through the add guest screen, total process probably 10-15 seconds max, the pages loaded quickly. I think not having checked prior to the second it hit 7am May have helped avoid having to wait on a refresh.

Who are all these people going to the park so early every day just to ride one ride? Guests on vacation? Locals not going to work?

If you mean today I can think of a few
-Groups arriving early for marathon weekend
-families with young children who can afford to skip first few days of school
-families with children who are older but don’t care about skipping first few days of school
-families without children enjoying vacation
-small groups of college friends who don’t go back till later in the month
-families with college aged kids
-Brazilians who are still enjoying winter vacation
-locals (like me) who have day off so why not?
- and other types of tourists who just happen to be here
I know it’s been said over and over again but as a local it’s so true now that there’s no more slow season here. Just slightly less crowded times.
