Great point! That is a really important part in this discussion, and it's not just exclusive to Star Wars Land.

We know for a fact that WDI had plenty of cool stuff and uniquely interactive entertainment planned for the land, they've been telling us about it all for years before they went suddenly silent a year or so ago.

And Imagineering should know that modestly paid AGVA performers and musicians can be easily cut by the sharp pencil boys, and the quality of talent from the low-paid pool of kids at Cal State Fullerton or CFU who get part-time jobs at Disneyland or WDW can vary wildly. Not to mention the willingness of the average Cal State Fullerton student to keep saying "Bright Suns!" for beer money will almost always fade after the first 30 days of operation.

What I think is funny is how Mr. Chapek glommed onto that concept and used it in all his pre-opening talking points during the Disneyland media events back in May. "It's all about the Cast!" Mr. Chapek said, over and over. Because he knew he had already cut all the extras Imagineering wanted to add.

Imagineering should have been smarter about this. There will always be a Mr. Chapek somewhere who doesn't get it yet controls the purse strings. So design the product better to withstand the inevitable attack from a Mr. Chapek type person. You can't rely on a Cal State Fullerton kid yelling Bright Suns! for the next 30 years of operation. That's just bad design.
One would hope that the lackluster reactions - and forums and discussions like these - would cause a change in attitude among those that control the purse strings. An important quality among good leaders is that they know learning never stops.

I messaged WDWToday on Twitter about a few of these. Answers here.

1. Not sure, but when I asked about the parking lot the response was "Security will be monitoring this space around the clock."
2. Apparently not, which is a grave mistake, IMO. We'll probably have to line up to get reservations just like the early days at DL.
3. I'm assuming a virtual queue, but have no confirmation.

Part of me thinks Disney wants the crazy lines to take over the "empty" rumors from California. One shot like opening day of Potter and they'll go viral. Who cares about customers!

This is an echo-chamber. Positive or negative, I don't think the numbers are high enough to really matter one way or the other. What's the highest number of likes/reactions a cutting screed against Galaxy's Edge has gotten on here? A dozen? Is that really actionable data?

I don't think this is.

“Echo chamber” is a term widely used in today’s lexicon, that describes a situation where certain ideas, beliefs or data points are reinforced through repetition of a closed system that does not allow for the free movement of alternative or competing ideas or concepts. In an echo chamber, there is the implication that certain ideas or outcomes win out because of an inherent unfairness in how input is gathered.

an environment in which a person encounters only beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.

Also, don't lackluster reactions exist outside this board?

You can hear industrial sounds throughout the land. Along with the sound of tie fighters and other space ships flying overhead. Over by the vegetation you can hear creatures hidden away kind of like Pandora.
Cast members did a great job of being in character all through the land.
I wouldn’t have missed the music if I didn’t know John Williams wrote music for the land. It will be interesting where and when they will play it. I wouldn’t mind it playing softly in different areas. It could add more appeal. His music brings the movies alive.
The land is very detailed. We had a great time exploring the land.

Look at that street entertainment! This art is what I was talking about. This would have made the place feel very alive.
I'm telling you: look at the roofs. This land was built for entertainment. There are all kinds of paths and stairs for CMs to get to the top of buildings and the bridges. It's a shame they're not being used right now.

Those would have been built with or without the intent to have entertainment.

Part 2:
Okay, then find us someone who thinks otherwise. Reports are now coming in from DHS previews, and there isn't a competing narrative yet.
My family enjoyed the datapad activities in Anaheim. We also really enjoyed impromptu character interactions with Chewie, Rey, Vi Moradi and a stormtroopers interrogation. I really like the addition of the mech-suit driver in pandora and the characters they have in galaxy’s edge so far seem fun too. We just scratched the surface of things to do on the datapad.
Have fun! The Land is amazing :)
Saw this on Reddit, thought it was cute and all, just wished there was more then just that tho..
