Or - they left it out to make a few bucks.

Opening sans ROTR, the second and third Smuggler's Run missions, the Table Service Restaurant or Cantina expansion, the additional spaces that are reserved for future experiences...They're all potential draws to encourage repeat visits.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see them do this in the future.

It does look like TDO sorely underestimated how many people are interested in building a $200 lightsaber though. Having the reservation window allows kinks to be worked out before the true masses are allowed into the park.

Anyone know if, like Olivanders, there are multiple identical rooms for the lightsaber building experience to increase capacity?

Great. Now theme parks are adopting the way modern video games do things 😕

I think it was because they aren't trying to duplicate Tatoinee... because you aren't there. So they need something in that spirit.. while still making the outpost it's own unique place. I haven't seen a full video of the place yet to really comment more.. but I get what you are saying. You just have to be sure it's not a 'copy' or feels like it, etc.
You can argue that while recreating "lands we know" is impressive (Potter, Cars, etc), it's also safer. The Galaxy's Edge/Pandora, "inspired by" approach is riskier and I do applaud that risk.

I think the choice is more about 'separation'. When you create your own version... you control its history and future. In the theme parks, Disney didn't want you to simply 'relive the movie' (thank god!) so creating a new 'space' gives them the creative freedom to create new stories and tales. This is easier in Star Wars as the idea of introducing new planets and races is pretty much a hallmark of every Star Wars tale.

I think this was more a strategic choice than an artistic one. The separation limits conflict with the still dynamic SW universe the company is developing elsewhere. It also allows them to do cross-overs where they chose... without having to try to retrocon the park stuff into old films, etc.

I think many of the new builds have lent themselves to expansion. The "problem" with historic Disney is that the overaraching themes of a park or even a land didn't lend themselves to expansion in the Iger-era. While they may have had room for expansion, shoehorning in loose connections would further dilute the area's original vision. The new builds under Iger have been substantially more forward thinking than any retrofitting.

robes yes....period attire though is everywhere. lets play devils advocate why doesn't disney just not have cms in regular jedi robes? look problem solved...

They don’t have cast members dressed in Jedi robes. And as you just proved, there’s no way for the average guest to know that.

Problem not solved.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Cast wears name tags, guests don’t.

Problem solved.
