Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

You need the space to soak up crowds and be able to have a little space to walk around. I would have liked 3 rides but Disney these days seems to think 2 rides equals a land

I guess it's better than the 1 ride that Disneyland Paris is getting in their Galaxy's Edge
The third ride was going to be a Bantha people mover that I don’t think would’ve taken up more guest area.

After hours upcharges are pretty much a given. They do it for TSL , they will definitely do it for GE.

Oh, I know but getting a ticket will be a challenge. Might be possible if it is offered nightly and it is during low season. And on a day it has been raining and there is a hurricane due. Maybe then if your willing to wait in line for a wrist band to get access to the ticket line.

I would pay for it hands down. We aren't going until 2021 but I don't see the crowds easing and can't be dealing with the hassle. I do hope that staying at the Star Wars hotel includes this for free though

Why not both!

Because DHS management are running around like headless chicken seeing the storm coming, knowing they can't handle the crowds and they expect crowds to take ages to get into the land and ages to get into a ride. The fact you would have to then close the land off and clear the land - it is simply more headaches than they want and by their own internal projections expect to last for quite some time. Hence the rush to get new stuff open, ala Racers Academy, D23 will be interesting if they have taken the management's concerns on board for near future or they have their heads in the sand.

Why not open the land for the public in January 2020 after the marathon? Make the Christmas holiday season the special after hours event every night?

Not really sure what you are trying to say. I am just saying that the hotel guests can have their priority access and there can still be before and after hours upcharges. The hotel is going to have 100 rooms or less so you are talking about around 400 guests at most on any day. Even if they all enter at once that shouldn't but a big dent in the lands capacity so they could go in during guest hours, or with other guests before or after hours. I doubt the hotel guests will get a time where they are the only ones in the land. The perk is that they will have their own private entrance, and will probably get priority access to the rides.

Thought this might be interesting to see how this land as it nears completion connects into Disneyland, and how undone it still looks compared to the rest of both parks that have a lived-in look. This photo was taken a few weeks ago by Rogue Aviation...

The Space Opera Land is as far away from the Sci-Fi Land as one can get. There's a moral there. Have no clue what that might be.

In all seriousness, I think SWGE’s existence will influence the aesthetic of Disneyland’s next Tomorrowland update. Specifically, I think they’ll try to differentiate Tomorrowland from “Space Opera Land” even more than currently, e.g., more clean lines, etc.

Coincidentally (?), that’s the direction WDW’s Tomorrowland seems to be going as well.

Everything in this land is STUNNING, but that rockwork!! Zsolt Hormay, I bow to your genius! (Eric Miller is amazing as well!)

I look at those spires on posts and how far back they actually are physically - and imagine how far back they will look from the perspective on the ground, and given their color hues.
It looks to me that the illusion of depth and distance is going to be tremendous in this land.

It sure is another reason to remove the rocks in front of DL's Astro Orbitor.

SWGE already has enough rocks.

I did the early morning magic at TSL last month and it was worth every penny. Grabbed a quick breakfast and and then walked on each ride. By the time the event ended and the park opened, the line to slinky dog went from zero minutes to 120 in less than 10 minutes. It was like watching the dam break with the flood of people running into the land. There was enough time to ride each attraction more than once and get something to eat and shop with the land being practically empty.

I'm sure they will offer morning and evening extra magic hours, or some sort of galactic pass option as an uncharge. I'd gladly pay it.
