wont muppets "area" be cut off by both toy story and SW? an odd "dead" back area.
I actually wonder if they will move muppets into the current Academy / American Idol stage. So they can have plenty of space to demolish the area. All the way to the Muppets area.

Seriously though, when I heard Disney was buying LucasFilm, this is what I imagined:

- A Hoth coaster zooming in and out of the feet of AT-ATs
- A Speeder Bike Coaster through the forest of the Endor Moon with an Ewok treehouse play area for kids (making Swiss Family Robinson expendable)
- An X-wing Trench Run ride
- Coruscont city area with Jedi Academy
- A possible re-theming of Star Tours and Backlot Express to Tatooine

While attractive (if you like Avatar part 2), these plans are a far cry for what I had hoped for on that day.

lets hope jabba the hut has a presence in the parks somehow

He better be an interactive AA, because an M&G with this,

...would be extremely disappointing.

A large AA with a remote controlled face and voice actor would be awesome.

I hadn't even considered that, but it (sadly) makes a lot of sense. Although everyone else in the theme park industry has moved on, Disney clearly hasn't given up on the flight simulator system (look at Stark Tours) yet.

If the Millennium Falcon ride is Star Tours 4.0, what a disappointment.
I wonder if they might do the same as what Avatar's Banshee ride is..
I mean a snowpeeder style soaring.

And agree with you, if its just a star tours retheme.. I will be disappointed.

TBH, for a 45 year old nerdlinger such as myself who saw Star Wars over 40 times in theaters when I was 7, if every shop, restaurant, etc. is kept thematicaly consistent and staffed by SW aliens and the like as implied at D23, I may never leave the area. The impact this could have on capacity is unknown but could be great. I'll just be yelling things at the family like, "Leave me be! I'm negotiating with the jawas for this mech tech!"

so long george! it was nice to know you while you were alive! XD

Anyway, Wouldn't it be just easier to work there ?

Exactly. Echo Lake is visible from Hollywood Boulevard and the area in front of the GMR. It's an extension of Hollywood Boulevard, I just don't imagine them plopping it right on top of 1930s Hollywood Boulevard, especially when there are so many other options.
they could use the lake as a transition.

I haven't seen this discussed here but according to the LA Times groundbreaking won't be happening until 2017

That may be correct. As I understand it, they can't close Indy until 2017 and they want the Frozen Sing-a-Long to run at least until the area at EPCOT is live.

Once they get rolling though, it may not take them much longer than two years (since everything is pretty much already in place). That fits with the 2019-2020 timeline I heard today.

So they will have:
- Frozen in 2016
- Avatar and Soarin' 2 in 2017
- Toy Story Playland in 2018
- Star Wars in late 2019/2020

As I understand it, the building in the background may be the current Tatooine Traders building (notice the ramp going up to it). What becomes of Tatooine Traders is anyone's guess but, judging from the art, it may just become the ride exit and no longer a store.

The Falcon will sit where the Star Tours queue currently is (Ewok Village and AT-AT) and the bathroom building across from Star Tours will be demolished to make more room.

I'm curious if there will be any "transitional" experiences to gain entry to Pandora or Star Wars Land. I love the idea of the train for Harry Potter at Uni. Essentially, you are entering into a new planet at each, so you get there by crossing a footbridge?

I realize processing people through/into the land is a challenge with capacity but ...? Just thinking out loud here.

Yeah. A full size MF would fit in that themed/queue entrance in front of ST. That could be the view from just inside ST if TT tower is built out a bit.
Then this one:

could show the view looking back the opposite direction. From TT, the MF is in front of the entrance to ST (right) with the BLE/cantina to the left/back of the picture.

^ As I posted earlier...

Tatooine Traders would actually be to the right of this picture. This view would be basically from where the bathrooms across from Star Tours currently reside.

Is it truly going to be five-seven years of people who don't any better speculating? I don't think I can take it.

No. Not a single ops or merch or ANY non Entertainment person will have anything but wardrobe.

Hopefully they have a large group of Entertainment folks doing the alien gig, but no. Not a single front line merch or ops CM will ever do that.

They just announced an updated feature to the thing. Why would they do that and then tear it down?

It wouldn't be torn down, it would just be like Star Tours v3 only with a new name.

But, the more I try to analyze the concept art, since the outside queue seems to be gone, it would seem to indicate Star Tours is staying put because they don't expect to need the extended queue any longer.

OR, if Star Tours is the Falcon ride, the Falcon walkthrough could actually be part of the queue...

I agree. While I have been begging for a major star wars land in the parks since I was a kid, all they have done is actually said what we all knew was coming. Once we have a good idea of the time frame, the actual attractions... then I can really start to get excited. If anyone thinks this will end with the same plans it started, I would say you are crazy. Disney has proved time and again that the start and the end are usually greatly different.
Yeah like the start and end of Cpperfields Magic underground?
