"New Star Wars Land"+ "Flying the MF" really should be all that is needed. There is something else at play here.

I think your point is hurting the satisfaction of those that have gone though.
I apologize if I came off as dismissive towards people who have been enjoying GE, that was not my intention at all. I haven’t even seen the land for myself yet so I could be completely wrong in my judgment of it. However, it really doesn’t seem like there is much to do at the moment besides the one attraction and taking in the atmosphere. But trust me, I’m happy for the people who have been having positive experiences and I hope I’ll have one as well.

I disagree with just about everything @mikejs78 has said in this thread, but I do agree with a couple of his points. I don't think the miserable performance of SWGE has anything to do with the land being based on the ST. In fact, I don't think the General Public even knows that it doesn't include the OT characters until they get there. So that isn't what is keeping people away. And I'll state now that while SWGE will get a bump when RotR opens, I don't think it will be the silver bullet everyone thinks.

I think the problem is caused by multiple factors.

1. Two MASSIVE price increases in the past 18 months. (I know a lot of folks that have let their APs expire because of the cost)
2. Predictions of crushing crowds deterring folks from visiting near the opening.
3. Franchise fatigue. (See below)

@mikejs78 says that their isn't franchise fatigue, but just from a personal standpoint, it is a major factor for me. I have seen every SW movie in the theater up too and including Rogue One. I just couldn't bring myself to care at all about seeing TLJ or Solo. I have completely lost interest. To be honest, I really only liked Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. I kinda liked Return of the Jedi. I found the PT mildly interesting, but no where close to liking them. TFA was shallow and formulaic. And Rogue One finally beat that horse to death for me. I couldn't even sit through TLJ on Netflix.
Well, based on your message here,
we actually don't disagree on much. 😃

The only thing I don't agree with you about is fatigue. I'm sure you personally may have it, and there may be some others who do - but I haven't seen evidence that it exists as a major cultural phenomenon. It might, but personally I don't think it does. Episode 9's success or failure will tell the true story there, I think.

I would also add to this that I still don't think a lot of people knew the land was opening when it did. Iger foolishly said that they didn't need to do any advertising. And now people are realizing that it's open, but Disney trips require long lead times....

It is insane to think that the addition of SWL by itself made Disneyland a ghost-town this Summer, there are other forces at play.

However, it shows that SWL by itself, was not a big enough draw to overcome those forces that made Disneyland a ghost-town.
Dorian cause Disneyland to be a ghost town all Summer. Well that, and the lack of music in SWGE.

The lack of music in GE is pretty unbelievable to me considering music is one of the main things that makes WDW so great in my eyes. I don’t even care whether they reuse the film score, I need me some music.

Meadowlark Lemon and Curley Neal?

TDO has to be reeling after both SWGE and The NBA Experience..."under performing".

I don't think TDO cares that much how a leasee is doing. If NBA fails, Disney gets to rent the space to someone else.

However, SWL should be a concern. But, to beef it up, not make cuts.

I could be wrong ,but I do not think NBA experience is a rental,I know the people working there are Disney employees.

In all fairness, I'm not sure how popular sports are among Disney guests. I know some people find All Star Sports the least appealing of the All-Stars due to being themed to, well...sports. When I go to Disney, I don’t really have sports on my mind either.

Tower is 9th, I wouldn’t take that list too seriously

It’s not part of the Disney “brand” for average guests who associate Disney with animation, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel.

Muppets and Indiana Jones, less obvious parts of the Disney empire, are low too.

I don’t know how to account for Aerosmith! People like upside down coasters? Personally, I’d have it at the bottom of the list.
