Why does the land have to take place at a specific point in time in the linear storyline?
It doesn’t HAVE to, but this one does. Not a big deal to me. When I go in a few weeks I’ll be in the current timeline, and not seeing Darth Vader or Solo or whoever isn’t an issue because they are...well, dead.

Looks like we haven't gotten the post hurricane crowds back.

I think the attitude would be different if the SWGE saga was not made behind a pay wall- and the many, many price increases to visit the billion dollar shopping mall.

I did the AP preview and it was nice- for about an hour-then if you want more- you'll get extorted. I did the Savi's light saber build- it was good-did feel rushed a bit ( it was the first time for the day) Light saber is cool- but, it's a one and done, value wise,

You would think closing the parks for a day would create pent-up demand, right?

The post-hurricane crowds haven't shown up at Disneyland's version either. At 2:30pm Pacific and 5:30pm Eastern, Millennium Falcon has this current wait time on each coast;

Millennium Falcon @ Disneyland - 20 Minutes
Millennium Falcon @ Disney World - 60 Minutes

Can't speak for DL, but it's not just MF, it's resort wide. FoP is currently 50 minutes. 7DMT is 40 min. That never happens.

I suspect it will take until the weekend for crowds to start to normalize after the hurricane.

Repeat after me... Franchise fatigue.

Even Disney recognized it a couple of years ago...

I don't buy the idea of Franchise fatigue, because Disney have been cranking out more Marvel content then Star Wars and yet people don't seem to be suffering from Marvel fatigue.

The Mandalorian is the most anticipated Disney+ show.

Yet, franchise fatigue. 🙄

That's not saying much. Provide the context, too:

TV tracking app TV Time has compiled data from 12 million users on their most anticipated Disney+ shows. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Star Wars and Marvel take charge with many of the top spots. According to TV Time, The Mandalorian is the most anticipated Disney+ program. Following that is The Falcon and the Winter Solider, then WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye. The data lists 20 shows, and features all the newly announced Marvel ones, such as She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Interestingly, it appears more people are excited for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series over the untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

In the Parks
Yes
Unfortunately, despite loving the OT, and despite growing up with it at a young age, Disney cannot realistically keep with the OT for the land. I am sure Ep IX will provide answers as to why there is so much importance with Batuu.

There are lots of references to the PT and OT throughout the land, and I've not even seen many of them yet (and just via pictures and videos).

As said above, basically Disney need a park that they can evolve. Han is no longer with us. Chewie has the Falcon. Rey and Kylo are important characters. No doubt things will develop.

Evolve Star Wars? That’s crazy talk. It should’ve been set on Tatooine, the fun Star Wars planet. There could’ve been a spaceport, a cantina, a marketplace... Oh.

Not calling anyone out in this thread,so please dont take offense, but I am SO TIRED of everyone on every site griping about how much Galaxys Edge stinks and its a total failure. The whole online discourse around SW ever since TLJ has been so bitter and negative and disappointing. If all these people hate Star Wars and Disney so much, why dont they just stop talking about it? Why do they have to come into every discussion and crap all over everything just because not everyone shares their hatred?

I have a family member that requires around the clock medical care. I havent been on a vacation in over 5 years. I would LOVE to go to Galaxys Edge...I've been a SW fan since I was 2....and a Disney fan for almost as long. Everything I see looks amazing, and I most likely will never have the time or the money to see it in person. Seeing people go multiple times just to whine and moan about what a "failure" they think it is because it doesnt have this or that just makes me feel miserable. If you're lucky enough to be in the newest most expensive Disney theme park attraction in years,maybe-just maybe-put aside the internet snark and try to enjoy yourself? Or at least remember that there are plenty of SW fans who would do anything to be there in your place!

So you can't go to a theme park so we should rationalize why it isn't a complete disappointment? Well, I'll give you credit, that's a new one.

Hope you're family member gets better.

And SWGE still sucks.

(Or as they say in Orlando, "It's amazing!!!")

This is about the LEAST Disney (or my perception of Disney) response I could have imagined. I sort of thought the culture of Disney nice was something we remembered from our youthful visits to the parks and tried to perpetuate when we were there. Someone saying that they really wished they could go is just about the most basic of Disney fan sentiments. Your response is not terribly gracious, in my opinion.

So why do you feel the need to keep telling everyone it sucks? Over and over again and crapping on anyone and everyone who disagrees with you? Personally,I dont get why Disney keeps building lands around Pixar stuff....I dont feel the need to go online all-day every-day and "educate" the people who DO enjoy those lands and/or talk about what a travesty it is that they got built. I just...dont talk about them. In the immortal words of Thumper, "if you cant say nothing nice, dont say anything at all!"

What a refreshing perspective.

I hope you’re able to visit Batuu, one day. It’s wonderful.

So i finally got to visit the damn near empty park today and wow. The detail is amazing and its the first disney land to really rival potterland in detail (sorry pandora doesn't cut it) but the falcon was amazingly underwhelming was it fun sure but as a gunner or engineer your trying to look forward while pounding on an awkwardly placed button. The detail in the que was amazing as is the land but man i think this falcon ride is too weak for the IP. Yeah i know its the secondary ride but honestly...minus the que star tours to me has more merit.

For gunner in automatic mode, don't you have to push just one button?

I know for Engineer you have to look away for a couple seconds 3-4 times, but you could easily just sit there and not push anything.
