Does that change its canonisation? Genuine question, I really don’t know much about the Star Wars literature. I was under the impression that all the novels weren’t canon
Almost anything after The Purchase is canon, including many new novelizations, new novels, and comic books.

Anything previous The Purchase is not canon, excluding the major movies, Clone Wars, and Rebels. So, the pre-Purchase novels are not canon.

Yeah, one of the first things Disney did with Star Wars wastake d 20+ years of canon and lore and say "Nah, that stuff doesnt matter anymore, only our new stuff does, buy this."

Not like that act would divide a fan base or anything...

What do you think would happen if Disney bought Marvel and said, "All of those stupid comic books from the past eighty years doesn't matter anymore." ? The comic book geeks would flip out.

Nah. The comic books are constantly rebooting their universes. The main driver is that what has happened in those universes become outdated and the various writers have created contradictory storylines. And so, the universe reboots in some cosmic crisis.

And that's the comic books. The Marvel movies created their own new MCU canon that draws from the comics but does not slavishly follow them.

I've been told, since I don't partake in the Star Wars novels, that that was the situation when Disney took over. The books and comics of Star Wars created contradictory story lines and was a mess.

The New Canon has been 'borrowing' from the Old Canon in new stories, so, it hasn't all gone to waste.

Galaxy's Edge time period, at least as of when it opened, is between Ep8 and Ep9.

So just because Ahsoka was "listed" as being dead in Ep9 when Rey hears their voices in the novelization doesn't means she can't be in GE. She could have died at any point after her appearance in GE and when Rey hears her voice in Ep9.

So it all still works within canon.

Also didn't they technically already break the time line with Boba and Fennec appearances last year. So I wouldn't put too fine a point on it. Its just a theme park land after all.

Thats basically what they did. Boba, Fennec, Din and Grogu are never seen around Kylo and the First Order Stormtroopers which is why they're seen in the Marketplace area of Batuu mainly and the area around it only for the most part though at times you could see Boba looking down at guests entering Batuu from Fantasyland

One time i saw Boba hang back while Kylo and his Stormtrooper escort was near his area and waited until they left before moving around again.

I've seen a handful of the movies, but I'm not a mega-fan. For the folks like me, bring in any characters from any of the films (except that Jar-Jar Binks), and I'll be happy. The land needs all the signs of life it can get.

Star Wars pre-Disney was a convoluted mess, brought on in part because Lucas gave his general blessing to authors and did not have much in the way of an overall outline to how the story was supposed to go outside of the movies. It's how you ended up with stuff like Chewbacca getting killed by a moon crashing into him, or like 50 clones of Luke and the Emperor running around doing weird stuff (love me some Luuke).

Disney really did the right thing in this instance in saying "we're not going to pick and choose what we want to keep, it's all gone, and if it really was an idea that deserves some exploring, we'll bring it into the new universe." That's how we end up with stuff like Kylo Ren (essentially a retelling of Jacen Solo without the twin) or Thrawn now making his way into the canon again (basically the best part of Heir to the Empire). It also means things are more coherent overall, even if there are times when the story is awful (looking right at you, Rise of Skywalker).

Just watched the first two episodes of Ahsoka. It's not that the show is bad, but Ahsoka is such a miserable and boring character in it. Rosario Dawson has one note and it's flat. Why couldn't they have casted Ashley Eckstein when they adapted her character to live action?
Basically the same reason the Mario movie didn't use Charles Martinet for the main character and instead cast Chris Pratt - Hollywood basically requires name actors in a major role if they're going to get a franchise. Honestly the only reason that Katee Sackhoff got to keep playing Bo-Katan is that she already had sci-fi bonafides from Battlestar Galactica.

That and her character was modeled after her which at least caused her to somewhat resemble the original animated character.

I feel like you can't really win with trying to bring animation to live action. If you attempt to use the voice actor, you get this:

And if you don't, you get characters like Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera who look AND act nothing like their animated counterparts.

The worst example of animation to live action so far has been the Grand Inquisitor. No reason they couldn’t have casted Jason Isaacs and given the character the proper elongated head. Just cheapness.

I’ve said for a while that GE should have had some sort of Yoda walk through attraction but Tony Baxters latest interview got me thinking why GE doesn’t have something like the dungeon dragon AA at DLP. Imagine going down into some dungeon and seeing a Rancor AA. Even if it wasn’t his full body.
I'm sure us fans can think of a hundred cool things they could have added to the land, but at the end of the day it was all about the dollar signs.
