Every ad I have seen focused from the viewpoint of a little girl.
Coincidental?
I think not.
I'm all for expanding your audience - but there has been a deliberate effort to change that audience.
That's because men are bad. That is why the First Order is all men. (and some women that look like men)

Star Wars is the new Disney Princess line. When is Princess Leia going to be added to that group?

Marvel is for the boys (except for Captain Marvel, of course). Reality is girls don’t even like Star Wars, even with Rey. The only girls that like Star Wars are the ones whose daddy made them.

Well, some small portion of girls do - and I'd imagine it's a larger portion than it used to be.
But targeting this small audience - deliberately - at the expense of what is and was the brands larger audience is part of what is hurting Star Wars.
Seriously, I haven't seen one official image or video for Galaxies Edge or anything in it (Smugglers Run) where a young male was the focus.
There's nothing accidental about advertising when it comes to the people chosen for ads and commercials - the casting and how that cast is depicted are careful thought out.
I'm quite happy to see girls used in advertising too.
But I'm quite sure boys notice subliminally and otherwise - that they're not a part of Galaxies Edge.

Prolly like how girls subliminally notice they’ve not been apart of anything remotely epic for decades?

Unless you count Totally Spies.

Interestingly, for the last few decades young girls been more interested in Disney then young men- primarily driven by the Disney princess marketing campaign.

When Disney bought Lucasfilm and Marvel, one of the stated reasons was to expand their market to better reach young men.

In many ways, I think Marvel has been successful in not only expanding the market for young men, but also boosting the interest of more young women- especially with Captain Marvel now playing a more critical role.

Lucasfilm did an amazing job making Rey an interesting character for young girls, and Kylo Ren for young guys, but I think they've struggled with every other demographic since most old time fans are disillusioned.
