In WDW, there's food establishments named after the people who founded/run the place, but they are never seen. So, the absence of Oga is as usual as not having Wendy present at a Wendy's.
Oh ok thanks for clarifying and allow me to retort to that point. The difference is those places are not meant to be in the most immersive land ever as you are in Star Wars. Again I must go back to Dok Ondar's shop because there is a actual AA there which kicks all kinds of @ss. It's just lazy story telling and creativity to not explain who these people are for the cantina and the lightsaber shop within the context of the immersive land.

Now my retort... how many more times are you going to bring up that Oga is not in Oga's?

Ramp number of times?

In the words of Captain America, "I can do this all day." Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answer? How many times are you going to complain about someone's criticism that is valid?

Ah, but they won't be identical because WDW is at a higher elevation, thus closer to the satellite, so it will look larger. :p
Only the smart people on this site will know the truth, that DL is bigger.

Ha! I had to double check that. Orlando is lower.

Orlando Elevation = 82 Feet Above Sea Level
Anaheim Elevation = 157 Feet Above Sea Level

So Anaheim is 75 feet higher than Orlando, and thus 75 feet closer to the camera lens on the satellite. Maybe that's why it looks bigger and not because there's an extra entrance, and extra land around and leading up to the Resistance ride at Anaheim?

Its not lazy story telling, you're just not accepting of the story provided in the land (not that you've actually been to it).

How about this. Oga passed away and the cantina kept the name in order to pay respects to the original proprietor. There could be many other stories for why Oga isn't there. Not everything is going to be handed to you, sometimes you have to go discover things for yourself, this is what the whole immersive aspect is suppose to be about. You the guest experiencing a world in the Star Wars Universe and discovering all the details both large and small. Details that you may not see the first time there, leading to the eventual repeatability of the land. It is also not meant to be experienced from behind a computer screeen, but rather up close and in-person.

Also the fact that Dok is there in Dok Ondar's is beside the point, its a different establishment with a different backstory.

One last thing, the land is suppose to grow in terms of story over time. We'll see if they actually do it, but the land is suppose to be updated on a regular basis in order to progress the story of the land. So just because something isn't explained today doesn't mean it won't be explained in the future.

Are we in rerun season? Or has the show gotten to the point where the writers are re-using old storylines? 😴

The same exact parties have been through this conversation already. I’ll once again quote myself.

Question for those who have been to the cantina- is there an actual characther named Olga in the place at all? Either an AA or a cast member behind thr bar dressed up as a characther named Olga? If not, jy do they call it Olga's Cantina if there is no Olga. They could have just called it "'Till the Spire Cantina" or "Bright Suns Cantina" "Black Spire Bar and Grill with Sports Brook".
For the record: Oga is never seen, but she is indeed heard. David W. Collins is a frequent Lucasfilm collaborator, and one of his skill sets is voice overs. He provided the voice of Oga for announcements and messages over the Cantina PA.

Let the record also show this is another stupid and insignificant point to get hung up on.

Sebastian isn't at Sebastian's either.

Oga, Dok Ondar, and Savi are unknown characters. I don't get why they have to name establishments after characters we don't know. Why name them at all? We don't name the Millennium Falcon after Han Solo especially after he's dead and the MF is not passed on to Chewbacca or to it's new host, Hondo that no one knows. And I absolutely do not care to discover the backstory, which is not available to the public. I'm sure it's somewhere in the Cast Member Guidebooks that's hidden from the public. Unless a disgruntled CM leaks the guidebooks or Disney PR or Lucasfilm decides to finally reveal the backstory to Batuu (Episode 9?), we just have to deal with the bore that is Galaxy's Edge.

I wouldn't exactly say that their backstories are hidden from the public. The entire cast of SWGE knows a solid amount about those characters (It was part of the initial training), and can help fill in the details if you ask them. But I know most people don't go to the land to ask about a side character, which is why it can seem like part of the story is lost.

You just confirmed my hunch that cast members do know about the backstories and side characters, but the public do not. Asking cast members to explain it isn't feasible for most people and especially the cast members who are busy doing their jobs even if they hate playing roles. Nobody in the YouTube blogs bothered with asking cast members about the backstories. The discovery of these stories would be a big deal to Star Wars fans. The reaction is indifference. No one cares. Galaxy's Edge is a bust. People want Original Trilogy.

I was always confused by the thought of creating an Original land based on a well known IP. It’s counterintuitive. I just thought maybe the execution could make up for it. It’s Ambitious yet counterintuitive. Now throw in all the constraints of different trilogies with different timelines yet still having to give people the highlights of the saga. The politics and synergistic reasons of having to focus more on the sequel trilogy. Next throw in imagineering prioritizing immersion over fun. Then Chapek. What your left with is a watered down land with no life that isn’t very fun. They somehow managed not to appease Disneyland fans or hardcore Star Wars fans.
