Who the Efteling would want to wear ROBES at a crowded THEME PARK? Oh, yeah... the same people who want to wait in line for the honor of spending $200 on a Freudian toy.

A HOT crowded theme park.
I understand little kids, but I really don't get adults who still want to do that stuff.

Its fun. And its acceptable. Wear a robe around Disneyland, nobody cares. People actually might compliment you or engage positively due to it. Wear a robe anywhere else, people look at you like you're a weirdo. Its fun to dress up and express yourself. I love throwing on my tux for fancy events. My girlfriend loves throwing on Mickey Ears for a trip to Disney. We do this because it gives us joy.

I didn't say that some don't find it fun, nor did I say that it is unacceptable.
I simply said that I don't understand the enjoyment that adults get out of it.

It's not acceptable at Disneyland, or any other crowded theme park, for many reasons including safety. Save it for Comic Con. There are a bazillion other ways to have fun at Disneyland other than wearing one particular style of problematic clothing.

Universal handles it perfectly fine. Many women's clothing pieces are similar to robes and they work fine. Comic Con is a completely different type of atmosphere and draw.

I think if wore a top-of-the-line Tigger costume and was walking around Tomorrowlamd or even Main Street and outside the Pooh ride and park guests and their kids were running up to me thinking I was a park employee...Disneyland might have a problem with that. Especially if I started getting rude or doing inappropriate things, prompting complaints and even civil litigation.

But what makes it fun?

Because it gives them joy to express themselves in a way that is oppressed in most public areas. The same thing that makes it fun for people to wear Disney branded clothes to Disneyland or gives them enjoyment when riding through a warehouse looking at blacklight plywood flats and old figurines. Either you get it, or you don't. But just because you don't understand what is fun about it, that's more of a reflection on your limited scope rather on the absurdity of them.

I think I don’t get it because I’m older than five.

It might have been fun for me to do - to some extent for the sake of my sons when they were five - if Galaxy's Edge was open when they were 5.
Something I might have done to play along with my sons - to some extent, maybe... For their enjoyment.
Though probably not, since though I took them Trick or Treating every year when they were little - I never wore a costume with them.

I still have a blast dressing for Halloween every year. Brings back really fun memories and everybody enjoys seeing what others come up with. Just fun!

Exactly! I don't understand the appeal of sports, but I'm not going to shame people who decide to wear sport jerseys. If people don't want to dress up for fun, then they don't have to. But don't act like others enjoying themselves is somehow affecting your day. Let people have their fun.
