So Black Spire Outpost in Batuu at Star Wars Galaxies Edge at Disneyland inside the Disneyland resort in Anaheim in the great state of California in the good ol US of A in North America on Earth in the Milky Way galaxy of the Universe. Got it.

Sorry, that ^^^ was obnoxious.
Not to be confused with Black Tap Brewery or the star wars cases for Samsung: Galaxy Edges located in Downtown Disney.

This is news right? Up until tonight I think we all assumed they were jagged cliffs.
The battle escape always looked like trees but I thought they'd never acknowledge it. Reassemble the kit of parts of our natural planet so that they look normal, but slightly off. Now they're going with the petrified tree story that kind of ruins the otherworldly nature of it all with an explanation that satisfies earthlings.

So other planets can't have petrified trees? Or is that something only exclusive to Earth?

BTW, in my opinion its not Disney that needs to adjust their expectations on box office returns. Its wall street, the media, and fans. Every SW films doesn't have to break box office records. Just like with Marvel, the standalone films pull in less than the team up films. SW looks to be going the same way.
No argument about the media jumping all over a situation like this. They eat this stuff up, and Solo's an easy target because of its backstage drama about fired directors, reshoots, cost overruns, etc. Disney was certainly hoping for a bigger debut, but they also knew this movie had a lot of strikes against it they couldn't do anything about. At least it got good reviews; it'll build up a fan base on home viewings, and Ron Howard has nothing to apologize for. No film series can hit financial home runs every single time indefnitely: That's impossible.

Agreed. However with the positive reviews I'm betting it'll have good box office numbers over the next couple of weeks. Word of mouth does a lot for things like this. Its why Black Panther was raking it in even a month after it opened.

Tbh I never thought of them as trees. This one of the rare times where I appreciate the backstory for the land including the ancient petrified trees.

Find the unedited post and I'll believe you.... :p;) Lol

Ok I lied, it was before this threads conception by three days.

Oh, and one other little nugget for you all. They aren't just 'rock spires', they are the remains of giant petrified tree trunks that have been hollowed and incorporated into buildings.

....The remains of Endor once the First Order torched the place and killed off all the Ewoks.

Ok I lied, it wasn't this thread. But Feb 2016 counts as long ago, right?

I was just messing with you. But yeah I remember seeing other references to petrified trees in other threads on this and other boards. So its not surprising that you also posted about it back in 2016. Good job....
