Via @truecoat, origins of the image I'm not sure. Looks about ten or so days old.

Compared to the density of the rest of Disneyland, it looks like a huge waste of space for two show buildings. It looks like they could shove a couple of more rides in there. I know they like themed environments rather than large number of rides. It's cheaper but not an efficient waste of space.

Question: I know DHS lost attractions while waiting for SWL. I've never been to DisneyLand and will wait till everything is done. But DLR does gain two E- ticket rides with room to expand for a third ride while not losing any attractions in the process. Does it lose anything?

Disneyland only loses the petting farm / special events arena and outdoor rib restaurant. Back stage areas too. All of which I would consider placeholders until a real attraction was built.

No attractions are going forever, save the goat zoo. ROA and TSI are altered, but not as much as first thought, and the train changes as well. But new views and scenery are added to that side of the river. Hopefully it's a net gain.

They prob-- er...hopefully will add more attractions in that space in years to come. They just want people to come and get wowed by the new land and the 2 new rides. Maxing out the space can come later. And, remember, that's also going to be Fantasyland expansion, shops, eateries and the Fantasmic Hidden Grotto of Maintenance Wonderment.

Pretty much Disneyland looses nothing but a little bit of the TSI that no one could walk on anyway. It's a huge gain for a better looking area.
The Main Street Horses would like a word with you. They look angry.

According the recent permit, the Fantasmic Hidden Grotto will be a “11,693 sq.ft subterranean structure (Marina), primary function is to serve as a storage and maintenance facility. (83) light poles” and will cost $4,000,000.00

I expect to be dazzled for that price

I actually want a second dragon to burst through the waterfalls and threaten the Mark Twain on each go-round.

Isn't a decent amount of the land cleared out likely to be used for the rumored Frozen E-Ticket? Just have to hope that all 3 are super-high quality and have the ability to handle massive crowds, and I would say that Disney managed to upgrade previously underutilized land. WDI seems to have problems creating high-capacity attractions though. I do agree it would be nice to have another attraction in SWL, perhaps a solid C/D ticket, if only to help with capacity.

When people say they are wasting space, they aren't properly grasping the gigantic size of the two E tickets. Quality over Quantity in terms of attractions on this project.

The rest of the space is being used to accommodate the hoardes that will descend. Disneyland of yore was never built to handle annual attendance approaching 20 million. This small part of DL will be. It's very counter to the way the rest of it is designed (which is what people are so upset about), but it's needed.

Trust me, you won't feel the space is wasted when 50k people are trying to cram into the land with you.

This begs a very weird question: I know 'Disneyland is never going to be complete', but at what point is it going to be full? There comes a certain point when Disneyland really doesn't need 100 rides, it needs either more guest space or more gates. There are still tons of areas to fix up, but they don't ever need to turn it into a 7 day park.
