I guess different people watch movies differently...or maybe it's because I've watched the movie multiple times now and read the novel (and other books these characters appear in). For me, the characters and their importance are firmly ingrained in the Star Wars universe now.

I read Catalyst, but the actual characters I liked from it were relegated to short stints in the movie (Galen and Lyra).

Rogue One's protagonists are a bit forgettable. I like Cassian and Jyn to an extent, but they lacked a certain charisma like one expects from Star Wars leads. Of course the supports K2SO/Chirrut were great.

This has nothing to do with them being limited to one movie. Rey/Poe/Fyn were all much more likeable leads coming off a single movie at that time.

Autopia is probably one of the only true classics I wouldn't mind bidding goodbye. It's just not a fun experience and takes up a huge chunk of the park.

I agree. I just worry about what would replace it and how it would effect the atmosphere near the Matterhorn. Autopia is no storybookland or ROA in terms of atmosphere but all those huge trees are nice behind the Matterhorn and help create a natural looking berm.

On a semi-related Star Wars note, has anyone here had a chance to play the most amazing new VR game -- Beat Saber?? Basically DDR/Guitar Hero but with light sabers. It is every bit as fun as it looks..

That is because you are a well adjusted fan that doesn't get bogged down in the minutiae and lets it ruin the experience.

A Disney fan...

It's a satire joke how the some in the fandom can exaggerate how "bad" things are when it comes to Disney's creative decisions as of late.

Got it, I blame the internet. Sometimes I think the fandom needs to be banned from the internet. And forced to just enjoy the objects of that fandom without worrying about every little detail and decision they may disagree with.

So....I was following along on Twitter when Disneyland had their recent StarWars Nites and....it kind of sounded like a disaster. Long lines. Lack of cast members. Cast Members who were unfamiliar with the event and the merch and what was supposed to happen and where. Apparently some of the guests who came in costume were even made fun of. I cant help but think that these events and the May the 4th events and others are their way of prepping for Galaxies Edge and seeing how/what they need to do to manage the crowds...if they cant even run something like Star Wars Nite without complaints, how are they going to deal when the actual Land opens up and they have 10x the crowd?

There will always be complaints no matter what you do, especially with a user base like Disney's. I don't think they're worried too much.
