This would all be amazing. I feel like if you asked a guest about the tower of terror, they would tell you some detailed cliffsnotes of the experience, where you go into an abandoned hotel and that the ride goes through the hotel before the elevator gets struck by lightning etc... people fill in the gaps and always talked about it like they really believed the ride. They bought into the tour of the hotel. You ask somebody about mission breakout, and they just say its really fun or its awesome. Nobody actually feels that engaged by the ride/story or buys their involvement with it.

What you are eluding to reminds me a bit of alien encounter. How wicked would Mission Breakout be if there were scarier gags incorporated and practical sets, and strategically placed moments of complete darkness along with audio effects to really make poeple feel threatened by whats going on and immersed in the chaos. It seems like disney goes back and updates the classics that don't need updating a lot, but we never see them fixing attractions that opened less than perfect. Can you imagine new sets in RSR, Pooh, or M:BO, now that its already undergone such a dramatic transformation? Would be cool though to see some changes in a few years to "keep it fresh" but really just to execute better on what they were going for.
That would be too scary for the Disney Mommies.

But that is what fans do, overthink everything about the object of their fandom. This board is proof of that... :p

Oddly enough, Star Wars is my first love...literally read every mainstream book and comic ever released. That being said, I gave up overthinking it long ago. Age (and having kids) makes you rethink a lot of things : ) Now I just enjoy it and yeah, sometimes things don't click or make sense to me but I kinda let it go, just like I would in other movies.

I like the 2nd half of Rogue One, I just hate the way it fits into the saga andt wish the 1st half was better structured and they had given us developed characters we can latch onto instead of tokens.
I think part of why I didn't latch on to them per se is that I knew the eventual outcome for all of them and that they wouldn't be around for future films...but I still liked them because I understood their importance in the bigger picture.

Disney would have to go pretty far for that to happen.
I worry about franchise fatigue as well but the reality is there will always be a new generation of moms and dads introducing the original trilogy to their kids, new movies for today's youth and plenty of new TV shows. The only thing I became a bit bored with was the books, felt like I was reading them out of obligation. I'm enjoying the new books a bit more now since they made all the old stuff "Legends" so it's easier to keep things straight now.

That is because you are a well adjusted fan that doesn't get bogged down in the minutiae and lets it ruin the experience.

Look who's here with a new video, it's our favorite lady blogger!

I really like how Star Wars Land has pushed the boundaries and envelope of Disneyland so far north, and has given an interesting mountainous backdrop to it at that. Really a huge improvement for the park overall in my opinion!

I didn't know their fate, but I felt Disney underdeveloped them so that we wouldn't be too broken up about it. I just know I liked and cared about Han, Luke, Obi Wan, and Chewie after watching Episode 4 whereas I couldn't tell you much about any of the Rogue One characters except one was a monk stereotype and Laurence Fishburn was trying to be stoic or something.

Yep, in the movie he was very poorly developed but you were drawn to him immediately.

I wouldn't say that. I remember laughing when he was one screen because it seemed like they were trying with a sweat-strained capital "T". The effect also sadly carried over to Insidious with their Maul demon.

Did we see the same movie, when was Laurence Fishburne ever in Rogue One?

I guess different people watch movies differently...or maybe it's because I've watched the movie multiple times now and read the novel (and other books these characters appear in). For me, the characters and their importance are firmly ingrained in the Star Wars universe now.

You're so cute. I remember when I was that young and naive. ;) Disney has Episode 9 to promote, plus the next anthology film. You're gonna be stuck with Star Wars for a long, long, time.
But that's not until December so from June to October, when the promotion for IX really kicks off, I won't have it all shoved in my face.
