Age has definitely been a factor for me. On my last trip to a Six Flags, I discovered in no uncertain terms that my days of riding multiple coasters in quick succession with no ill effects are long over. Loooonnnngggg over...

Yeah, trying to ride ST and SM back-to-back with no break, no matter the order, is no bueno....

Remember when everyone was lamenting the destruction of Walt's river? Good times. Now look at us! Actually excited for something new?

I'm ashamed of every last one of you.

Walt sketched out that river on a cocktail napkin! And all the trees! And the big giant square thing in the middle of Festival Arena, where school groups performed mediocre jazz hand numbers to two or three dozen parents and chaperones! Amongst the trees! WALT! JAZZ HANDS!

So basically you're telling me that the video games I buy my son are likely going to triple in price

I know this is humor, but improved graphics don't effect the price of the game. Compare the cost of today's AAA titles vs the AAA titles of the 90s:

These prices are in line with what new PS4 or Xbox One games cost (newer games are often cheaper, adjusting for inflation) assuming you don't drop money on microtransactions.

Phew, that's actually good to know. Video games are expensive and I have a tiny, adorable, genius gamer.

The old Star Tours never got me sick, but I was also a much younger man. For me with Star Tours 2.0 its the 3D and the simulation motion together that gets me nauseous. I've left the glasses off for one ride, and while screen was blurry I didn't get nauseous.

When designing the original Star Tours, the imagineers spent a lot of time figuring out which motions can be replicated in a simulator effectively, as well as making sure what it feels like you're doing lines up perfectly with the screen.

Oftentimes, motion sickness on simulators is caused when the image is out of sync from what you're feeling.

The new Star Tours, while fun, plays much more like a hastily put together video game- not to mention the ill effects 3D causes + the age of the simulators.

I also wonder if the new Star Tours being entirely computer generated has ill effects- since instead of watching something real and substantive, we're watching computer generated images that while convincing, often don't behave like a real object would.

Video games today only last as long as the publisher is willing to keep the license server running. After that it's a coffee coaster. Cartridges on the other hand do triple and quadruple in price and last forever.

Real time CG is impressive but lacks any weight to the objects. It's still not real enough.

3D movies don't have an effect on me normally. Although I did get nauseous after one of the Hobbit movies. But I think that more had to do with the increased FPS that didn't lend itself well to 3D (out of sync as you said).

Did it make you mad that they made some of the dwarves handsome because that's nothing like they would have actually looked, but at the same time you enjoyed watching their handsomeness?????
